Dec 19/Quick-16
Met WildMan at the track, nice guy !! Was cold, we had 17 cars for Q-16, for a full field, we ran a 5.75 @ 124 MPH to qualify 3rd !! First round, I cut a late light and skated around a bit, the dew had settled, launched w/ the front wheels in the air, but got to about 100' and started to spin the tires, sashayed down thru there and used the chute to snap it straight. Ran 6.2X @ 90 MPH, my opponent cut a .02 light and deserved that win
Not sure who won the event, we loaded up, the crew was cold
Would like to hear more about it, Patrick, Larry and the crew did a great job !!
edit: fact check

Good to meet ya Backmotor, saw your runs. Seems that by the time racing got started the track had gone away a bit. It came back around after some cars ran. Too late for you and a few other people that couldn't quite hook up in the first round. Saw you go out in the firs round with a red GRJMR66. Not like you but It happens. I thought it would be Bob's night again till he went out. You're right about the winner, he cut good lights and ran good all night and I guess that's why he won. It was cold and I was a spectator but still enjoyed myself seeing you guys race. Hopefully I'll soon be there racing with you again.

That is correct, this is indeed our second full field Q16 since Nov when we started it. Backmotor might be referring to the first full field he has been present for.

BTW, I didn't get in until about 4am and I felt under the weather today or else I was going to be at CFRC checking out their event. Q16 information and full ladder will be posted on the site shortly. Thanks for all those who came out, I was supposed to have a track dryer out last night which would come in handy in these situations. On top of that the truck knocking down the barrier wall and turning on its side was not something we needed right before program start

Oops, my bad
congrats on your second full field
I cut a late light, and then got loose
Was great seeing you all again (or for the first time !!) We will be back on Jan 23 for Quick-16, look forward to seeing ya'll again. That truck laying on its side didn't help, I'm sure he wasn't happy either
poop happens

Thanks for posting the ladder Patrick, ya'll do a great job !! No one can control the weather (It was cold !!
) or an axle departing from a new-ish GMC truck
Congrats to Jeff Seabrooke on the win !! Jeff took a couple action shots of my car at LMP a year or so ago, I got them framed, and they hang proudly on my wall to this day !!Last edited by BackMotor; 12-21-2009 at 02:58 PM.
