Broke the diff housing Sat night

When it's not one thing it's another. Although I knew that the trans brake was going to be hard on the drive train I didn't expect the housing to break. I was being cautious on the center section by only leaving at 3000 rshared_pm off the trans brake. As it turned out, the center section held up fine but the housing didn't. Both axle tubes broke clean all the way around where they are welded to the center of the housing. I bought this housing shortened about 12 years ago and apparently whoever welded it didn't do a very good job. I been meaning to put a brace on it since I installed the trans brake but hadn't gotten around to it. I haven't inspected the damage and probably won't till after the holidays but I know that the drive shaft is bent. As for the housing, if nothing is bent or broken and it jus broke the welds, I may be able to repair it and install a brace. Don't know if the axles are bent or if anything is broke inside the third member/center section. Glad it happened at the starting line and not down track or it could have gotten real ugly! I should have it going by the start of the new season hopefully. Later!

We are coming this Saturday GearJammer We are without our regular crew guy that services the parachute, anyone out there good at repacking a parachute ?? It's a Simpson cross-form, looks like a 'plus' sign. Troy will be back for the next event, but we wanna run on the 28th !! Thanks, Mike

EDIT: Our next race is 12-19-2009 Quick-16, we were unable to replace missing crew that quickly, and the cold track temps, makes my car skate around.
