The Gremlins got me Sat night!
Spent the whole day working on the car to get it ready. Pulled the valve covers, adjusted the valves, installed new valve cover gaskets, repaired a couple of oil leaks, changed oil and filter, checked all engine bolts for tighness and installed new slicks. I finally loaded up the car into the trailer at about 5pm and left for the track. I always get there early to get a good parking spot. The track is only 4 miles from my house so I was there plenty early. Unloaded the car and got all my support equipment out of the trailer. My scooter had a flat tire!
Guess I would have to walk today.
I then decided to start the car up and warm up the gears and oil. It would not start.
Had fuel but no spark. I just ran this car two weeks ago and didn't have any problems. I had not started it since that time. Some friends came over and help me do a few diagnostics and came up with either the MSD box or the magnetic pick up in the distributor. I couldn't fix either one at the track so back in the trailer it went.
Today I did a spark check on the MSD box by by-passing the pick up module and it sparked meaning that the box is ok and the pickup module is bad. I'll order one from MSD and hopefully have it ready for next week. That's Racing!

I was talking with you late Saturday before you left.....testing the box was easy huh? I was with the silver coupe that always parks beside you. We lost 2nd gear band after the first burnout! We'll be back up pretty quick, luckily its an easy (cheap) fix!
I'm Tommy BTW, see ya at the track!

Hey Tommy, thanks for the info. I went to the site and it explained how to check the box and the pick up module. The box was ok the pick up module had 2000 ohms of resistance and the site indicated that it should have between 400 and 1300. I'm going to check with Race Car Engineering today and see if they have one in stock or can get me one. If not, I can order one from the MSD store for about $30 bucks plus shipping. Sorry you had problems also. See you next week.

I installed a new dist magnetic pick-up yesterday. Got it from race car engineering for $25. That's $15 less than the MSD store on the web.
It fired right up! All I got to do is re-time it and I'm ready to try again. Hope I have better luck this time. See ya Sat nite if weather permits.
