E85 Fuel System How-To/FAQ/Etc

I get questions almost every day about E85 fuel setups and even E98 fuel setups. I hope this can and will help. I will be adding and adjusting information over time

First and foremost. Everyone seems to be an expert on this fuel. I'm no expert. I'm still learning but the difference is I am actually using the fuel. If someone tells you E85 is a bad fuel, not better than pump gas or xyz, etc. Ask them how much E85 tuning THEY have done. Not their tuner, engine builder, shop, wife, girlfriend or other

How-to measure ethanol percentage
Buy a 100ml graduated cylinder displayed in 1ml increments. Fill 25ml with water. Fill remaining 75ml with the fuel to be tested. Put a cap on the cylinder and shake for 30 seconds to 60 seconds. The ethanol and gasoline will mix. The gasoline will not. You will see where the line is seperated. If it's seperated at 85ml. Take the 85ml (ethanol and water) -25ml (water). That leaves 60ml of ethanol in the fuel. Take that and divide the number by the original 75ml of fuel (100ml total - 25ml water). Here this would give you .8 or 80% ethanol[/b]

Fuel setups for Honda B/D/K series: I've ran far less than what is below but this is what I recommend

F/I and N/A (200whp - 400whp) -
* Stainless steel -6 feed/return that is E85 compatible
NOTE: Amazon Hose; Tell them you're using E85 or Paragon Performance Biodiesel, M85, E85 Compatible Hose and Fittings
* Walbro 255hp fuel pump
* Stainless Steel 100 micron fuel filter
* Wire your Walbro 255hp fuel pump with 16 or 18 gauge power wire from the battery through a Bosch relay. This insures it is getting full voltage

* 1000cc fuel injectors minimum. I HIGHLY recommend Injector Dynamics 1000cc fuel injectors
* An Alpha tune

F/I and N/A (400whp - 700whp) -
* Stainless steel -8 feed/return that is E85 compatible
NOTE: Amazon Hose; Tell them you're using E85 or Paragon Performance Biodiesel, M85, E85 Compatible Hose and Fittings
* Two (2) Bosch 044 fuel pumps
* Stainless Steel 100 micron fuel filters
* Wire your Bosch 044 fuel pump with 16 or 18 gauge power wire from the battery through a Bosch relay. This insures it is getting full voltage
* Weldon fuel pressure regulator A2040 or even better A2047
* 1000cc fuel injectors minimum. For higher hp setups I would highly recommend either Injector Dynamics 1000cc or Injector Dynamics 2000cc
* An Alpha tune
