Noah's Lexus IS300 2JZ GE-T Build by Hybrid Motorsports UPDATE 1/29/12
For all you IS300 Owners Join us at My.IS Forum were you can always get any info on this car and Build
http://my.is/forums/f219/dsouthmia07...d-pics-437818/
Welcome and thanks for looking at my thread. This is my pretty Mint 2003 Black Onyx 5speed bought in January 2011 for $7300 with 130k, full leather, LSD. Big thanks to my builder Justin at Hybrid motorsports for taking on the job for me. I plan on doing a full build with updates, pictures, and videos along every step. Enjoy
I still have yet to register the Lexus, Its my project. I wanted the car when it came out 10 years ago and After figuring out it wasn't just your average Lexus, The bug hit me. It comes factory with a 2JZ non turbo Supra motor. So I figured why not work with that.
From the start, The day I brought her Home. Bone Stock

So the First thing I did was maintenance. Some things I had to address before even driving were head seals, O2 sensors, Front wheel bearings, Ball joints, tie rods, fuel pump, spark plugs, slotted/drilled rotors, harmonic balancer, painted calipers, cleaned all rust and painted underbody.
Then I added some Vertini fairlady 19's wrapped in Nexens. The car needed a drop so some Megan EZ street coilovers came the same week. I also ordered a carbon fiber hood and got this one by accident but I like it alot, I also thought it would help with relieving heat under the hood.

After reading all the DIY's about people doing there suede headliners themselves, I bought some and hit it over a weekend. 2Tone black and Grey, sorry the pictures suck but its hard to get good pictures with a cheap camera

I got a deal on a Pioneer Z1 Head unit. I had it hardwired/installed with a JDM dash kit and it was a perfect fit. Turns out the Unit had a free CD already in it :approve:. I ran a set of soundstream speakers, tweeters, and amp. No sub yet but I'm already wired for one. I also got a used B&M Short Shifter that I hope to transfer to my new Supra Tranny

Needed some performance so Megan Headers, Greddy exhaust, and SRT Intake came Next

After a little while of modding I realized It wasnt enough and changed my plans. Going turbo, I picked myself up a used Turbonetics Kit and Supra R154 Transmission. My new Goals are 500+HP Reliably

After giving it some more thought (and finding good deals) I came to the conclusion that as many OEM parts I can use the better. Since this is a Toyota motor I decided to go with the twin turbo Supra internals.

I have already spent so much I put myself on a budget and decided to pull the motor my self :screwy: lol first time for everything

Shes out safe

I started collecting parts for my Turbo build and I am almost done getting them together before the motors tear down begins. Here I have the BC 264 Cams, springs, retainers, lighter 1JZ flywheel for the R154, and My fluid Dampr

Greddy E-Manage Ultimate with Custom Plug & Play Harness

Speerco Intercooler, ARP head Studs, and Turbo timer with HKS Harness

HKS Cam Gear, LS400 TB, Tokensolutions Motormounts & 700cc injectors, ARP Rod Bolts,

Also got some Gaskets and seals like GTE HD and Intake manifold Heat gasket. And me goofin

Dont worry I didnt forget about the Amazing looks of this car. Rare JDM Toyota Qualitat (Altezza) front bumper and JDM skirts to go with it! Also found the even more rare fog lights to go with the bumper

Got the bumper and skirts freshly painted black

Justin got everything apart for me today. Sent the block and head covers out to powder coat, and dropped the crank off for some micro polishing. Cant wait to see how everything turns out so we can get it all back together.

After we got the engine finished up we moved onto the modification necessary for the r154 to work in the is300 which was extending the shifter housing which we fabbed up in-house, while we were in there we changes the input & output shaft seals:
