1997 Honda Civic Inspection & Tune B20 VTEC Turbo
1997 Honda Civic Inspection & Tune B20 VTEC Turbo
Omar asked us to take a look at His vehicle, He recently had his transmission replaced, And felt a bit down on power compared to what he use to notice, also some other minor issue like passenger side power window was no longer functioning etc. etc.
1997 Honda Civic ex coupe ~ B20 vtec turbo:
After the first night at the shop we noticed two separate oil leaks one from tranny and one from oil pan, So we put the car on the lift to inspect: What we found was surprising!

No,, shift linkage outout shafts seal this was one of the tranny leaks:
Ordered seal from honda:
We got the car up on the lift and was surprised to see this:
Quick but important fix to say the least:
Several loose & missing transmission bolts & brackets that made all kinds of noise:
Back mount bolt missing:
Many of the issues were fix some of which were not documented, then we proceeded to do a full tune-up... changing engine oil & transmission fluids, we figure it was cheap insurance because based on the work performed by the previous mechanic it would be smart to question there judgement
We also
*Changed the wastegate line setup
*Checked dizzy in preparation to tune
*Fixed boost gauge
