Update: The future images will be of higher resolution to see detail:
So we've finally gotten everything back from the machine shop & the work was excellent as we expected:
The block was bored & honed cylinder matching the pistons, The crank was too far out of spec and was not able to be machined so a replacement was purchased and machined within spec.
The Bottom end was fully blueprinted and balanced (balanced rotating assembly)
You can't see in the card below how much it was off: initial spin .vs. final spin

Arp mains & rod bolts:

New rear main seal / installed:

yeah the good stuff lol:

Arp Head studs / installed:

Stay tuned as we move onto the head and it's specs in the next post!Last edited by Hybrid Motorsports; 03-04-2011 at 08:20 PM.

So moving on, The heads received similar treatment:
-Lightly decked to ensure it flatness (good seal)
-3 angle valve job
-JWT valve springs & retainers
-Valve lash adjustment re-shimmed
-Cams journals line bored to correct our scouring problem
- new valve seal..etc.

To aid in the breathing process some Jim wolf technology (JWT) 261 cam's were added into the mix:

Old vs New:

And our assembly begins:

Well moving along, I've decide not to elaborate on the mistakes made by engine lab, everyone makes mistakes including us , How you deal with the mistake after the mistake is made, We think is more important than the mistake itself, This is what they fail to realize. At this point it doesn't matter I think it's safe to say for the most part the end user ( our customer) is happy, And that's what's important to us.
Timing done:

Alex decide to ceramic coat the headers:

New Spec clutch:

Time to drop in:

All done:

I'd Like to thank Alex for the oppurtunity to gain some valuable experience with the vq engine and for being patient throughout this whole ordeal things never seemed to go right but we remained focus and got the job done, I think we both learned alot with this build. Enjoy!!Hybrid Motorsports LLC.
