Is your motor a fully built high compression engine with a ported head and great exhaust? ITB's usually don't net too much power without a built motor. There are a few companies out there that build custom ITB setups that will run you in the $2000 area. Don't forget you will also be dropping some good cash on the tune too.

obx has some for cheap for about $799 compared to other companies that want $12-1500
do a search and see what you find. honda tech have a few threads with info on them. i think the obx looks ok and the price is not bad. you will def need a tune as they are difficult to maintain a proper idle. |

I guess its a fad. I know people who have been doing it since 98-99. That's a long lasting fad imo. Even endyn built a b20 that was either sleeved or bored past 84 mm and put a vtec head on it and made something crazy like 300 with the motor. It works, it just needs to be built correctly. All this is neither here nor there tho, I was joking about what I was saying about u needing a vtec head, but what I'm saying is all motor requires flow, starting off with a restrictive head is shooting urself in the foot. The vtec heads flow more than some ported ls heads, plus the rocker design in it is a little better suited for high rpm use. If you did decide to go ls vtec itb, would definitely be a force to be messed with, even if you did a vtec killer set up without the vtec.

i know kj and i know its still running strong and i know there are alot that are but i choose not to be like the thousands of other people that are doing the same builds...and i know that vtec heads get better flow and ls heads get shytty flow...im not a noob and i have built more than a few motors...all im asking is were can i find them without fabricating some?? also does any1 have a more accurate guess or info on the power it will make...i know the build will have something to do with it i just want a wild guess on the range like 10whp-23whp or something you know what i meen....???

i think what Kj is saying and others and i am thinking,is just dont be dissapointed if you spend all that money on a ls buiild and get beat by a fully stock Lsvtec..i have done coule nice fully built ls motors and they run me in my 700 lsvtec eg and lose.the itb will not gain that much over just a Sk2 manifold they will just make your car louder at Wot.but i guess you dont find to much info on them for ls case its not worth it.just fab some up or im sure Kj could do it for a great price

If you really just want to do it your best bet would be to get a set of b16a ones and then modify them. Check out www.theoldone.com, there is an article about modding a JRSC for a type R for a ls/b20 head. You'd have to do the same things and then have the entry ports on the ls head port matched to the b16a sized intake manifold ports. For the itbs to be really worth it you are going to need some pretty big cams and good headwork. Look into picking up a used set of TWM's, Jenveys, or maybe giving those new OBX ITB's a shot. Good luck.

i have some good cams and some good head work...and as far as your lsvtec...i wouldnt mind running you because every stock ls vtec i have raced that isnt fully built i have won...as a matter of fact this weekend i got 2roll races and 2digs with an lsvtec with gsr tranny car is not slow but i got 3 out of 4 w's...both roll races were mine by far the 1st dig my shyt never gained traction and he won and knew i never gained traction so he suggested we switch sides and i win the 2nd dig by half a fender...the diggs were not long races we kept shutting down with me in 3rd gear and basically i just threw 3rd so idk but i still need itb's so back on topic lol...
