Whine in 5th?

So I swapped a b20z into my DC and everything was fine until about a week ago. Nothing has changed since the motor swap done about a month ago. The car drives fine, runs strong 1st thru 4th then as soon as i put it in 5th gear i get a hi pitched whine that increases with speed. If i get out of the throttle to where my speed starts to decrease the whine disappears. Also the whine gets high enough on the highway that it is either no longer audible or is drowned out by engine/wind noise. Does anyone know what this can be? I'm most likely gonna flush the tranny as soon as i get any kind of money but i wanted to know what i should be looking for if anything at all?

there is a plug on the side of the tranny that you have to take out. you should be able to see it just looking down into the engine bay.
i would also say to check your passenger side axle to make sure its locked in.

Fill oil through the VSS hole. Side plug should be out, add oil until it comes out of the side plug. **NOTE** side plug requires a 1/2" ratchet.

Okay so,

I replaced all the fluids with synchromesh and have been driving around on it for about a day. The whine is still there and only in 5th gear. I have no idea why it would only whine in that gear and not any other

Any other help is greatly appreciated.

How much fluid did you put in? Did you fill it until the oil came out of the side plug?
