We've considered this months ago and dont think it's a good idea for a number of reasons.

#1 - I dont think we have enough members pass away to warrant a forum for it. I would hope we dont have enough members passing away that is.

#2 - We have over 50k registered members, you guys cant get along in simple threads and I am 100% sure the threads in that forum would get trolled and people make all kinds of comments, especially if the death was a result of street racing.

#3 - If I did consider adding that forum it would be heavily policed, in fact you wouldnt be able to make a post in it without someone approving that post.

as for the comments in this thread, we check the forums, we read what your saying and just because you think its a wonderful idea doesnt mean we do. We do take these things to another forum and discuss them, back and forth between ourselves. that goes for all the ideas presented in this forum.

if you have a problem with how something in run, PM me and I'll explain why its done that way.

As for the memorial forum, it's still under consideration but probably not until we upgrade the site. Even then the Bike forum has a well organised thread, where is yours ?

yeah.. doesnt mean it cant work though.. just means it will be moderated (ie your comments wont show up until someone approves them) and thats a lot of work for a moderator.

My other concern is the direction it takes the site, but we are still discussing that.

Always something negative.

#1 - Not enough people passing away to make a memorial forum? So you're saying that you need X amount of people to pass away before considering such a forum? Because that is exactly what it sounds like to me, even after your little sly comment, "I would hope we dont have enough members passing away that is."

#2 & 3 - You're right people do troll other people. Fuck, I'm a prime example. (One other name comes to the top of my head as I am sure you clearly know who it is) I've been harassed by numereous people, numerous times. My name has been slandered, bashed, and shitted on by many people on this board. For reasons? I don't even know.

The fact is, people think their shit doesn't stink. People take advantage of death's negativity and throw it in member's faces. Possibly to hide something? Because they think they're cool? Because they want attention? Because they're big shit talkers who think the internet is a joke? Who knows their exact reasoning for this. I would say it's 'here nor there', but I'd be lying to myself.

Yes, monitoring is going to be a big deal. Actually FINDING neutral and non biased moderators, hah! GL.

You only leave us to assume you don't check, read, or give two shits about an idea. A simple, 'we're checking into the issue.' ; 'we've considered and we're working out the bugs.' ; 'we have thought about it, but have other priorities.' Any type of acknowledgment that you're trying to work on the idea would of been fantastic.

You have given TR a 'HELP TR' section, not for your ideas (as admins/mods) but for the average TR user who wants to either improve TR, have TR work smoother or make suggestion(s) to existing wheels in motion.

BikeTech - Most users in bike tech know each other. By know each other, I mean FACE to FACE. They hang out, have group rides, meets, ETC. They're actually their own entity from TR. That doesn't mean ignorant people don't come into their threads and ruin them by talking shit ETC because it happens.

Mods - As for a lot of work for the Mods, isn't it their job to Moderate the site? If they think it's 'too much work' maybe you should consider evaluating them?

Possibly even creating a trusted user group that doesn't need their posts/comments approved/disapproved?

BUUUUUT Hey it's all about running 'your' site and making 'your' money.

Thanks.
My. 02

Yes, I understand that Skiff. However, Zate's post is almost full of negativity. Someone that's supposed to run the website, be professional, take kind to both side A and B.

A lot of half ass, bottle fed bullshit is what I see.

personally i think that after all is said and done, a memorial forum just wouldn't work out. i think a lot of members wouldnt even know it was there, and they would still post their RIP's in pit road.

I say dont have a memorial forum. just make a comment about it in pit road or something, make a sig about it, get a tattoo for the deceased, put the banner up at the top for a week, and get on with life.

The whole reason for the idea is for people NOT to post in pit-road.

TR has all sorts of topics to post under, yet people probably on a daily basis post their thread/topic in the wrong forum. Thus users have their threads moved to the correct forum. Does that mean we should get rid of those forums?

"I say dont have a memorial forum. just make a comment about it in pit road or something, make a sig about it, get a tattoo for the deceased, put the banner up at the top for a week, and get on with life."

Sigs, Tats and banners have been MADE/INKED.
Yet if I'm on TR and want to post a comment in a thread and it gets 'bumped' I/Family/Users get bitched at for "TTT'n" the thread or Users complain to the Admins/Mods about the thread being a 'nuisance'.

If there was a memorial forum that would eliminate users bitching about threads.

i say we ban the next person who posts up a RIP. whether in pit road, local events, honda tech, etc.

no more RIPs.
