Who knows. A lot of old poorly maintained cars with bad O2 sensors and shit run rich anyways ethanol has a lower stoich ratio so it might be better for those cars.
If it ain't broke I still want to fix it

I would say that it would be even worse for those cars... the driver would be giving it more throttle to compensate for the less energy in each explosion, causing it to build up even more in the cylinder, keeping the cylinder temps way down. I would imagine that on a really crappy engine, it would all but pour out the exhaust.

I've been getting ethanol free gas at McMullen Oil.

The place is in Clearwater, not far off from I-275, and it's really easy to get to anywhere from Tampa.
Go south on I-275 and cross the Howard Franklin bridge. Then take exit 30 to 118th Ave N.
Continue west on 118 Ave for about a mile or so and McMullen is at the corner of 118th Avenue and 49th Street.

A commercial account is not necessary when you buy gas there. You fill up and pay just like at any other gas station.
And they accept all major credit cards.

My brain hurts after reading that... SixCylinders made sense, a car in open loop is going to run rich. a lower numeric stoich fuel will be more suited and more power will be made. then again I see people here saying to drive 30 miles out of their way to get 1 maybe 2% better mileage at best.

There is a thing that is called opportunity cost.. If you get paid only $10 an hour and you spend an hour of your time driving from Tampa to get gas in Pinellas county. then you better save at least the $10 your time is worth. Not to mention the fuel it takes to get back and forth.. now... if your there anyway.. no problem. then you can spend up to 2% (8 cents) more for ethanol free gas before the math is a waste of time again.

That was just my shot in the dark based off of personal experiences recording numbers with my cars.
I drive a 1990 NA 300zx and a 1992 turbo 300zx (never took the time to get the numbers for the 97 corolla)
I always felt like they both ran better on straight gas. Better throttle response. smoother idle. more "go" in its "get up and go" But nothing I could measure, so ignoring personal driving impressions
with the info I had, I was getting, consistently, between 2 and 3 mpg better on the NA and between 3 and 4 better on the turbo car.
So on the conservative side, at 2 mpg, that's 32 miles to the tank, or, for that car, about 1.5 gallons of gas "saved"
I'm not driving across town to get ethanol free stuff, especially if it is more expensive, but for the occations that it costs the same, and I'm in the area, it is really worth it.

but again, that's my speculation based off of personal numbers in combination with driving impression.
And on the eighth day, the Lord created the turbocharger

Just found a new station (Sunoco) in Brandon that sells ethanol free 90 octane gasoline. It's located at the corner of 60 and Lithia Pinecrest. Current price $3.999/cash 4.099/credit.
