AJ Foyt Racing will complete its sweeping overhaul with engines and aero kits provided by Chevrolet. Far from a secret, the switch from years of Honda involvement to the Bowtie was made early in the offseason as team president Larry Foyt sought to change the fortunes of the beleaguered team.
Incoming drivers Carlos Munoz and Conor Daly will have the same 2.2-liter twin-turbo V6 motors and bodywork that have propelled the brand to five consecutive Verizon IndyCar Series manufacturers' titles.

"I'm glad to be back with Chevy," said A.J. Foyt, whose IndyCar team last used Chevy power in 2005. "I've had a lot of success with them in the past and I'm looking forward to more success in the future."

Coming off a disappointing 2016 season, the Foyt team entered 2017 with two new drivers, new engineers, and a new manufacturer in its camp.
"I am looking forward to what will be a new chapter for us that involves returning to an old friend in Chevrolet," Larry Foyt said. "There are a lot of changes happening within our team this off season and I won't minimize the challenges, but I see a lot of potential with our plan."
Along with defending series champions Team Penske and Ed Carpenter Racing, A.J. Foyt Racing makes just the third confirmed full-season partner team for Chevrolet.
"We are pleased to welcome AJ Foyt Racing to the Chevrolet IndyCar program," said Chevy racing boss Mark Kent. "Chevrolet and Foyt both have long histories in IndyCar racing, including prior opportunities to work together. We look forward to renewing the partnership and a strong start to the 2017 season."
