I don't understand that fascination the kids have with drifting. If you are on a dirt course, then I see the benefit. But for a paved course, especially a dry one, it serves no purpose. In fact, it will slow down track times, will require more frequent tire changes, and increases likely-hood of accident.

I think it's just another thing that the Gran Turismo has taught to the kids who never knew much about anything.

Drifting in the dirt or rain is not drifting,Well not in my book.

Theres alot of wanna be drifters who think a little tire squeal while turning is drifting.

I have seen some Japanese drfting vids,and it does take techniq,the toe to heal action is crazy.I like it,But I dont go out and try to imitate it.

Round around cars is nto drifting maybe yeah Redneck drifting..

it actually rquires a large amount of skill and car control to keep the car in a controlled state that it desperately wants to get out of.. being in a 'drift' is not a natural state for the car and so.. requires alot of little throttle steering and brake adjustments to maintain it.. not an easy feat..

I had a kid contact me by AIM one day I dont know who he is or how the fuck he got my AIM,His AIM name had the word Tuner in it.


Once I found out this kid was 16 I asked how the fuck do you call your self a tuner,He said I will be in the summer,I said do you know what the fuck a tuner is?He says yeah ..a person who installs parts...groundf effects,stereo systems,rims..etc..etc

I laughed my fuckin ass off,Then he gets mad and tells me how his rich friends with a $40k Cobra can beat my "Old school 7"

First things they ask you is your RX7 twin Turbo,The dam movies,video games ruin it for some of us.

Drifting is badass and it requires alot of skill and small japan man feet. No my friend, it is not rice. Rice is a lifestyle... a personality.

97blkz, watch those videos. The car loses traction as it is rounding the corner but somehow the japanese keep it in control around the corner and regain traction. I love it!! Even though I don't know how to do it.
