ACTUALLY
nascar has let toyota get away with alot of stuff.
Ok , so maybe nobody here cares about the Goody Dash Series of nascar. But, that is the class that the CELICA races in!
The V6, Multi Valve Quad Cam celica is racing in nascar! Yes, it has to have a smaller engine, 3.2 or 3.4 liters as opposed to 3.8liters that the OHV american engines use, but they did do it!
Of course, this was a year or two ago that they let the celica in. They said that they were going to run a multi val ve engine in Winston cup in the next four years. I know they can do it.
who cares, they are running 5.7 liter engines.
a little 4.8 quad cam will gladly run with em!!Advocate for the People's Republic of Awesome

02-22-2003 04:42 PM #22I agree 100%. I've been saying that forever too. In my opinion, If they race a V8 powered rear drive Taurus, they should sell one too. Its supposed to be stock car racing!Originally posted by Bill
I disagree. I'm not a huge fan of Nascar (or a fan at all for that matter) due to the lack of inovation in the sport. It has been regulated to hell and technology advances seem to have slowed to a crawl. I wish it would go back to the days when you could actually watch a Nascar event and then run off to the dealership and purchase an almost exact replica of what you just saw. Stock car racing should be just that, the best the manufacturers (regardless of nationality) have to offer being raced around a track.

yea like honda toyota ferrari etc sells F-1 cars at their dealerships huh? Toyota will have to abide by the same "lack of innovation" rules the big three have. in my humble opinion....i say the Toyotas will be running SB2s. the reason i think this is because GM and Toyota have been "in bed" for a few years now with the prism. so basically, if this happens, you will have Toyota stickers on a body thats "made" by a "good ole boy" in N. Carolina with a small block chevy and a 9" ford under the back. hhhhmmm I guess it really doesnt matter since there isnt really any brand identification in NASCAR anymore.
