Good Roads
ohai,
So I have been in Florida (riverview & brandon) for about 2.5 weeks now. I can't seem to find nice twisty roads to drive in. It is just a monotonous straight line roads that for some reason can only top at 55mph. Any suggestions?

I am having a hard time not to speed. On a usual road over here in which the limit is 65...we do 80 in socal. Wife and I figured the so many straight aways would just cause drag racing hence the low speed limit.
Anything on some good twisty roads or do I have to convert to Drag racing...which I don't want to do.

Dude...I have no idea wtf the keys are man. Just moved here and I have no clue where anything is. Yes...I am currently going through google. it would help if someone highlighted the road for me on a map.
edit: Just looked up the keys...all I see is straight roads.Last edited by grey_mist; 01-25-2012 at 05:57 PM.

You might have better luck searching for twisty roads in the bike tech section or another local bike forum, tampasportbikes.com Or you could look into the local autocross tracks here. Welcome to FL.

Google " Florida Keys "
Google " Florida " Look where Naples is to Ft. Laurderdale. That straight line is Alligator alley. If you break down you're fucked* It's 100 miles with nothing but water on both sides. You see aligators, and all sorts of wildlife by the fence area.

that's exactly why they do it. Nice big road lend themselves to more comfort at higher speeds. So you naturally want to go faster. If they keep the speed limit annoyingly low, they are more apt to catch people driving by feel and therefore speeding.
As for twisty roads. I'm sure some people over in bike tech could point you in the right direction, as I'm sure they hit some of them when they go on their rides, but generally speaking, everything is pretty straight. I know a good size group of us end up leaving the state just to find decent roads.
