Do you want a fast car ?
Why ?
Why do you want to have a fast super cool car ??
Some people like to attract the girls with their cars..
Some people just need to be the fastest for respect ??
I just like working on my cars and enjoy driving them.. My mustang isn't going to be a dyno queen or 1/4 mile monster.. my wrx isn't going to be a huge turbo beast... I just enjoy the sounds and feeling of a tuned vehicle in my grips. I enjoy driving what I build.
I honestly haven't had more fun than when I had a festiva that I could drive at the limit all the time. Put a 500+hp mustang in there and the limit isn't something you can toy with all the time.. thus making it not fun anymore.
I see people spend ungodly amounts of money just so they can have the same thing as somebody else.. shouldn't you be trying something different ?
I guess it's like jumping on your bike and going riding.. who needs a therapist when we have things like project cars and motorcycles? Sometimes I could use some therapy after working on my bike / cars lol...
I used to spend all night in the garage / driveway until the sun came up.. working on my cars... It's getting back to that again, and I'm glad to be back.. my vacation was too long.. I'm just mindlessly typing right now.. is anybody reading this anymore ? I know this thread is going to go south
What drives you to enjoy your vehicles ?

From what I have learned in my 28 years of existance is that when you have a fast car 95% of the time you respect it, when you have a slow car 100% of the time you dont respect it. When I had my procharged T/A I would hardly ever drive the ball bag off of it, it was a sub 11 second car that I could daily drive but still have the "fun" ocasionally, When I was 16 I had a 86 regal that I would drive the ball bag off of and it was slow as fuck. Its all in learning, but with that being said ill move on to directly on topic.
Its all in the fun of trial and error of building a car to me, Sometimes its not enjoyable when your up to 3-4am wreching like hell to make some sort of event but the payoff in the end of taking it for a spin or tracking it is just blissful to me. I dont care what other people think about it as its my car built by me to how I like it and such, Although a pitfall to this is the unwanted attention from police and shit hole thiefs that want to joy ride or hack up your car to hook up his mad tyte bro with a sick nasty drivetrain. Ive moved on to track only cars and will say it is not the same fun as a street legal car that you can take for a spin whenever you feel like it, although I have not been able to match the adrenaline rush from the asphalt/dirt cars I have built to street cars. But now I am selling out after 2 yrs in that era of the car world to get back to building a street car...

its a addicting hobby....back in the day it was just to build a slow car into something fast....i was definately not driving a super cool car...being in a 97 neon
but i would take down many "fast" cars and far more expensive rides..it was great! no: ac, heat, radio, power anything, solid MM made it rattle like crazy, the cams made it want to stall out at idle sitting at a red light, re-filling the NOS for the weekend i could go on and on... but i still loved driving it especially 7+ years ago and all the people who only ran their mouth and not there cars got put into their place if i called them for a run. my old build definately was something different than the "norm" car to build. I would do it again but i have bigger and better things to spend my money and time on these days
why did i drive a neon? click the link to the old ride: http://acrracing.tripod.com/

OP is eerily close to something that should be posted by another imfamous TR poster. The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

Personally Ive always been a fan of taking the lady out for a nice spirited run on a windy road somewhere. Not necessarily at break neck speeds but we like to hit triple from time to time if theres no one else around. 99% of the time its 45-50 driving through Orlando but every now and again its nice to be able to feel a little rush.

Detective jamrex,
I admire your analysis......... LOL
Jameson,
I know what you are talking about.
I have done a few of those all nighters........but the car was so ready that "off the trailer" I could kick their butts by six seconds on an autocross course for the first run. Psychologically my competition was beaten for the rest of the day. No one thinks they can make up six seconds. To further beat them psychologically I would then take a nap in the car..........(I never told them that I had to)
+1 on the street driving fun versus track only.
My autocross cars were always street driven, giving me plenty of fun (and practice) during the week. It allowed me to really enjoy kicking the butts of a trailered-race-only car that had not been driven for a week. Another reason for my psychologically devastating first runs.
Street legal car that you can take for a spin whenever you feel like it? I do it every day.........
As a recent street story, I passed an NSX on the outside of a turn the other morning........LOL.........and that inspired him to do 90 down an undisclosed-name street while my humble Honda maintained the speed limit. -Bob
Jameson ps:
In high school I raced motorcycles in NC. I love the Blue Ridge Parkway

If I didnt have my cars/bike to spend money on and work on I would probably have spent the money on drugs or gotten into something stupid. Car keeps me out of trouble and money under the hood, I quit smoking pot this year to finish my build and I think its gonna stay that way. Ill be done with my car soon so now I need other things to keep me busy

I have a fast car because its my racecar. Its not street legal so its never going to be anywhere other than a track or on my trailer. Some people actually do motorsports on here.

Thank you.
At least SOMEONE has some sense of humor.. will never understand why people take this site so seriously.
