Thread: Do you want a fast car ?

Have owned one "fast" car and have driven a bunch more.
I actually prefer my 300-350hp car, it's about as much as the street surfaces will let it have, and I can drive low-traffic back roads in a spirited fashion without having to "feather" it or not give it the all-out treatment.
Don't use it to pick up women; do that perfectly well on my own. Though I can say that a quick 0-80 run has never hurt my chances. My car is basically a 'stand out while blending in' car, looks good in stock form, but is not a cop magnet.
I do miss working on my car more often, but at the same time do not miss all the extra maintenance that came along with a fast car and tons of mods, especially stuff that was custom fabricated. I do not miss the unsciencely amount of money I spent though.
I enjoy knowing it's not the fastest thing out there, nor is it even my ideal setup, but I do know it's still faster than 85-90% of the sheeple traffic out there, and I can maneuver my way out of idiot clusters when the need arises.
Also, knowing when to pick battles on the street helps immensely with not being humbled too much.

Im with him...
I had a stock sr20, baby turbo, stock tune 7psi. I loved it. It wasnt a "fast" car, but it had a little power. Plus playing with boost never really gets old. I just dont see a whole lot of sense driving a car with absolutely no power, or driving a car with shit loads of power. I want my groceries in orderly fashion
My goal was always more power, but to me thats 225-250wheel. 300wheel was nice, but too much crack for me. Id get addicted.contact admin@tamparacing.com to advertise on here.. - mod

I felt I was being referred to as Senor
and I know the writing is long winded and weird.. but when you have been up for almost 24 hours and still have 12 hours to stay up while your stuck at work.. you tend to space out. my post should be pardoned at the state of mind I was in
.. oh yea.. after 3 hours of sleep and a sinkhole damage report at my house today, I am ready to go back to work for another 12 hours tonight!!

I've been in the game for a while. Same car too. Its the self gratification I get when I change something on the car and it picks up mph or drops ET. I like fast cars because of that "holy shit" factor for that split second you get. When you get used to it you make it faster to get that holy shit factor back. Its like a high or something.
Like the first time anyone has been on a roller coaster that was powered by magnets. The start just scares the crap out of you. I felt like that my first time out on slicks. What a rush!
Not sure if that answered your question though.
