Car Camera Info?
At Jteeza's Boston's Restaurant meet, and some other meets, I had been seeing
The Go Pro cameras, or at least the clear waterproof casings mounted
on some cars.
Wanting to learn more,
I went by Best Buy afterwards to check it out. The promo video in the store
had some really clear car shots, drifting and racing as well as motorcycles
and other action-oriented sports.
The only two models on display were selling for $199 and $299. It looks like
the run time on the video part is determined by having to buy a chip for
$49 more.....for either camera.
All the $299 models were sold out. It's my understanding that one difference is that
you get plenty of mounting brackets to hook up the camera in your car.
Beside that, what's the difference in the $100 price? More than just brackets?
The cameras look the same to me. Do they work the same? Any features that
come only on the $299 one?
Anyone here want to share their experiences using either model on your car?
There are some interesting roads I would like to video.

So instead of writing all of that up, you could have said:
"I've seen GoPro cameras and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them"
Also, lack of google use is obvious.

Actually I do have experience with the cameras, as they were used for this video:
However, your posts suck, and you run your mouth nonstop so I find no reason to actually help you of all people out.

We also use them on our boat sea-trials when it's nice and rough out to get some awsome shots.
Bob just buy the HD Hero 2 and experiment with it if you really want one. I'm sure if you got one and had a serious question about it and didn't post a mile long explanation about it people would be glad to answer it. The GoPro instruction manual and Google should be able to answer all your questions though. I'm sure the manual even comes in spanish. And no thats not a racist comment... Now /thread-VINYL WRAPPING-

I you already have a Camcorder and you're fine with onboard shots you can get yourself a CruiseCam mount, had one shipped to Germany from a fellow TR member who bought it on ebay.com for me.
nothing compareable available over her.
you must have seats with bars coming out of the headrest, no idea how thats actually called in English, pictures of said Cruise cam mount in my car thread, click on the link in my signature.
few videos I made. Camera is being controlled with a Sony wired remote control (On, Off, Record, Take picture, zoom)

Arsrac,
Tobibeck,
Thanks for the info and the suggestions.
Other knowledgeable people are requested to respond.
Since not everyone reading this would know what context I was talking about,
I thought a bit of explanation was in order. -Bob---- on-site *Aftermarket* spring/suspension installations --- on-site impact wrenching---street lowering with your own stock springs...........

I've seen the GoPro HD Hero 2 in action and its nice, can take a beating on the track as well. It gets my vote for purchase and I hope to buy one soon.
My friends from CA run a Flip camera on each side of thier 89 Civic hatch as well as the Go Pro in the center of the cabin of the car , it's a nice setup. Their friend mixes all the footage to show all the views during one run on the autox course.if you can only race me in a straight line then whats the point

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then youll go faster period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster. the late Tom Thrash SCCA Solo E Production

What's the point in having a Car forum to discuss Car stuff if all you offer people to do is Google shit up? I can Google, YouTube, FB, etc.. just about anything that I need to learn, but I ask a lot of it in here just to get the wheels rolling in here. Yes some of his threads get out of hand, but this just happens to be a legit one. Give the kid a break.

When thousands of people have already used this camera and reviewed it, would you turn to a car forum full of people that half the time aren't actually a reliable source? If his posts didn't suck ass and contain half a book each post people here would be more helpful. His posting habits haven't changed, so neither will the responses he receives.

There are plenty of people on this website who are knowledgeable and maybe a handful that have used the so called camera. I would rather here from a bunch of knowledgeable people on this website who have the experience in using the camera then reading some reviews on line from people I don't know. I know a few people on this site that I would trust their judgement after them using certain products.
But you sit there, click on his thread, read it, then comment on it. So you tell me which is more foolish. The poster, or the reader? Commenting on his so called foolish posts makes you a legit poster or a foolish one ?If his posts didn't suck ass and contain half a book each post people here would be more helpful. His posting habits haven't changed, so neither will the responses he receives.

If Senor Honda bothers anyone here, then stop commenting on his threads then maybe he will stop creating the threads that bother you all. You all comment on all of his threads and to me that is just more fuel for the fire. Let it burn out.
