So, I've always heard about the tampa Honda meets but I ve never actually been to one :-/, could someone please tell me what exactly ppl do there and who goes? Oh and maybe where there s some good spots in Tampa/ Brandon area and when? Thanks TR!!! ~M~

There aren't any really good meets like there used to be, at least not on a weekly basis...unless it's the older guys and the classic cars. Some of the bigger shows that happen along every few months are decent. Most of the weekly stuff is small groups of friends, though most will be friendly to you if you're not revving your car up like a retard. and you're a girl, so they'll be nice to you for sure lol.

I wouldn't hit up the "meets" that go on at gandy or the causeway, those are just begging for problems. years ago they were half decent, but there is very little racing out there now, and mostly punk kids trying to be gangsters, and ricers crashing into each other. and drinking/driving. i'd stay away.

sunshine speedway has track events every month/week depending on the schedule, as does bradenton. much safer out there, and you'll have the chance to see some better/faster cars (not all but some).

for sure i'd offer to show you around if i ever went out, but things aren't as happening as they used to. whatever type of car you have, you might be able to befriend some people who gather at someone's house to work on cars, and that always seems to be the most fun since it's a learning experience and they can help you get more into the scene. and it's always nice to have friends who are familiar with your model of car to give you hand-me-down parts and/or offer help, esp when doing a large project.

also, not saying you do, but don't dress like a slut. while you are likely a good looking gal, if you're really there to talk cars, the guys aren't going to take you seriously if your tits are hanging out lol. keep that for later ;P LOL

Thanks so much for your reply, Yeah I'm def. Not trying to go anywhere there's gonna b immature ppl doing stupid things...thanks again I think I did find a spot I'll check out. I just really didn't know if I could go in uninvited but like you said I'm a girl I'm sure they won't mind.
