As mentioned above, Tonight is Street Heat. It's legal, it's usually packed with plenty of cars and people, there is usually someone with a case of beer in the trunk, and a great place to meet people from here on TR. It's a great way to start out and find out what else goes on in the street scene.

Dan,
+1 on the good advice related to meets.
+1 on cleaning up this thread.
and I agree that TR's Local Events forum is the best way I know to stay informed.-Bob
Gosh, I hope no one complains that I used the word "meets" and didn't post this under
local events.......LOL---- on-site *Aftermarket* spring/suspension installations --- on-site impact wrenching---street lowering with your own stock springs...........

Just a note.....this meet was far better attended than the number of posts would indicate. There were a lot of vendors/businesses who I recognized but their names were not mentioned in the posts. Take it as a compliment, You folks did a lot more work than people realize.-Bob
To DJ Spaceship,
I enjoyed the music, man. I also enjoyed the discussion on publicity
and promotion. You did good just coming in off of that party last night.
You are going to do well. Hope to see you out again.
This is a shout out to Team Hatchimoto and President Steven. I had not
seen you guys since that night at the parking garage. I didn't know you
had girls in the club. Good to see you again.Last edited by senor honda; 01-10-2012 at 11:51 PM. Reason: added link

I go to a lot of meets. I don't always own a particular car, but friends of mine do and
I go to hang out with my friends.
Real car people don't care what you drive. They like cars.
Here's an excerpt that I posted related to the Honda/Acura cookout meet at Phillippe Park.
There are pictures of some of the cars attending, and a link if you want to read it in context. http://www.tamparacing.com/forums/lo...jan-8th-4.html

Crix,I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere also. People stayed later than the ending time.
A good sign. Looking to the next one and a thanks to Sleeperlx for doing this for us.
Moving to the second grill worked out fine. That grill uses less charcoal than the ones
we have used in the past and cooks slightly faster. Not a bad idea for next time.
The benches were closer together than across the lot and that promotes conversation,
too. I did my part eating 3-4 dogs. (burp)
Whoever suggested using potato chips to set off the burgers....right on! They did.
I gotta remember that.
I liked looking at the cars, especially DJ Hallucinate's whose I had not seen before.
Good conversations. It's always good to know one more computer guy.
I like the way you do things.............especially the improved ground wiring.
From other cars I got some ideas of better ways to do things with my own car.
Mild99,
Thanks for coming through with the good pics. It was a drive for you, but they look good.
To the guy I took for a handling demo ride....
I didn't mean to scare the crap out of you.........maybe.
LOL -Bob
