Massive crash claims eight Ferraris, three Benzes, and a Lamborghini
A single miscalculation from a Ferrari driver earlier today in Japan led to a chain reaction that ultimately wrecked or destroyed 14 vehicles including eight Ferraris, three Mercedes, a Lamborghini, a Skyline, and a Prius that was in the right place at the wrong time.A group of foreign car enthusiasts were heading to Hiroshima from Kyushu when one of the drivers lost control trying to overtake a car on a wet, curved part of China Road in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Ferrari driver reportedly hit the median and created a reaction that caused the other cars in the lineup to crash, according to Japanese media (translated).
No one was seriously hurt in the crash, but the vehicular carnage is severe. Video from the Japanese TV report above, as well as photos from Twitter and other news sites shows a trail of expensive Italian metal dotted with Japanese and German cars.
It's slightly difficult to tell from pictures, but the Ferraris involved appear to include multiple F355s, F430s (including a Scuderia), an F360, and some form of F512.
Full size

Other cars include the aforementioned Mercedes-Benz products (including a CL600-ish type vehicle), a car described as a Lamborghini Diablo, a Nissan Skyline, and one Toyota Prius. The accident shut down the road for six hours as cleanup crews tried to untangle the mess.

Prius??!?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.

The Prius was probably bump drafting and honking the horn to pass!
...or maybe he got caught mid-pack of some people who have the ability
to acquire a fast car, but have not yet acquired the ability to seriously
DRIVE it. Anybody can stab it and steer it in a straight line, but it takes
a little time to transition from driving a Buick into driving a Ferrari.
A general rule: If you can't afford to write it off the first time you
drive it on the street, don't get it to start with.
----------------------------------------
Sometime back I showed up as the only Honda in a field of muscle cars
for a Sunday afternoon "tour". They knew me and didn't ask me to leave
and I didn't make excuses to chicken out of the trip. MiGosh! That
was one heck of a day! I was having a good time catching them in the
turns and they were having a good time hitting (undisclosed speeds)
on the straights. If one of them had had a miscalculation as the Ferrari
Driver did, you could have bought a muscle car for scrap metal prices.
That was the last one of THOSE tours and some of those guys probably
still have their finger prints in the steering wheel.-Bob---- on-site *Aftermarket* spring/suspension installations --- on-site impact wrenching---street lowering with your own stock springs...........

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then youll go faster period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster. the late Tom Thrash SCCA Solo E Production

Yes it was. It may be worth pointing out that I received a sealed invitation
to the tour and you did not.
Since you don't know me, didn't ride with me or know anything about the
capabilities of my humble 80's car, it's possible you may be making some
incorrect assumptions.-Bob

I would like to know the capabilities of your humble car. Can it appear to be lower then it is? Can it appear to be higher then it is, and lower then it is, at the same time? Of course it can, because it was built in BOB'S GARAGE!!!!
And for shits and giggles, Ill throw a quote on the bottom of my post like bob.-MARK

A lot of people hire me to do suspension work on their cars.
Plenty of people have read suspension articles which I wrote.
A lot of people hire me to do suspension work on their cars.
Lowering is only part of what I do.
Some people lower a car for car shows and for "the look".
Some people lower a car for performance.
All my personal suspension work......including lowering, is done to improve
my personal cars grip in the turns. People who have ridden with me know
more about a car's grip than people who haven't ridden with me.
Lowered-looking cars attract the attention of the cops in some places.
When people (including the cops) look at my car it does not appear to
be 3" lower.
For years, people at the meets which I go to have seen the photographic
proof that my car is 3" lower than stock. Meets are listed in TR's Local Events.
When intelligent people don't understand something they ask questions to
learn and get smarter.
When stupid people don't understand something, they criticize it,
ridicule it, and don't get one bit smarter. Maybe it is intended that
stupid people remain stupid.
If people ask a question at the meets for information, they will know more
than people who ask an internet question to ridicule something they don't
understand. Suspension articles can be read in TR's Chassis and Suspension.
