Toyota GT-86 (formerly known as FT-86-Twin of the Subaru BRZ)

Toyota GT 86 makes a compelling case for itself

Interesting. When we went to the auto show over the holiday and looked at Toyota's line up I wondered where their sporty car was at. I mean the Toyota Corolla S is not it nor the Prius C Concept.
if you can only race me in a straight line then whats the point

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.– the late Tom Thrash SCCA Solo E Production

scion version......SCION FR-S officially revealed | Tune86 - Toyota 86 news (GT 86, Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S)
so there will be 3 cars with 3 different labels- but basically the same? very GM-ish

IIRC the US version will be distributed under the scion brand, and the Japanese version under the Toyota brand. Not sure about elsewhere in the world, but the US is only getting the fr-s and the brz.
