i think if i was going to build one it would have a completely modern drivetrain, one of the new shelby motors and a 6 speed manual tranny, and 4 wheel discs with a/c and ps.no point in a high tech stereo,id be listening to the motor.

My ex's dad had one and I drove it often. It is a beautiful classic, however the handling was crap unless you upgraded.

Sure they handled like crap compared to today's cars. But that's the beauty of building your own car, you can go for the 100% nostalgia feeling or upgrade the components you want upgraded. It's one of the few freedoms we have left...for now.

With a chassis like that, it gives an opportunity to upgrade to all new modern parts. Would totally dell a xr6 online 6 with modern suspension. Remember, the mustang was only a stylish vehicle that had a minor sports package at the time. Now it is being more of a sports car.

at the time the shelby was one of the best.what the hell,if things didnt get more advanced in 45 years then we would have a problem...but it sure was fun to get sideways in my 67.i was drifting before drifting was cool...
