Agreed. I'd rather own something real. Gotta respect the craftsmanship though.

If it's done right I won't knock it... Some of these cars that are done right on a Fiero or Cougar look beautiful. They put a lot of time and effort into recreating a super car. I give them props. Some of them even invent a car and it looks great. Some of them even do a better job then what we see in the movies. A.K.A (Total recall movie, Time Cop, Demolition man,Back to the future) I give props to Back to the future though. Some of the cars they made in that movie looked nice.

put that sucker in a Bradley GT.....
and as for the kit car, JEZUZ! A FWD Cougar? that was GARBAGE from start to finish WILL NEVER be in any other category except the worst bag of ideas EVER to dump money on... It like putting a testarossa kit on an Aveo.....Only the person driving it would think it looks and feels cool, besides Cordite of course..... At least the Fiero was RWD....

Where did all the kit talk come from. I thought you were just wanting to drop the motor in a stockish vehicle for the Track. So in that regard.... FIERO > Cougar

Rey. You're missing the whole point and just keep talking about the cougar. Listen to me for a second. We were talking about Kit cars and I mentioned if they're done right I won't knock on them. If they did a good job, payed very close attention to detail, and made an exact replica using a cougar, fiero, Factory 5 or whatever kit I will give them a lot of props for doing a job well done. Shit my cousin was buying a bat mobile kit from the original batman series. I can't remember what setup he was using or if he even did it yet, but if it was done flawlessly I won't hate on it. Regardless that it isn't an original some people put a lot of time and effort into recreating something.
I used to have a 01 cougar ZN model and mine looked very nice. It never looked trashy or dirty. Would I ever buy one again? No. The ATX transmissions CD4AE IIRC were unreliable. You always had a 1-2 SHIFT bang problem, Relay problems, Alternator problems in those cars. The only thing reliable in that car was the 2.5l Duratec. Very strong motor. Loved that motor.you only find them in the trailerparks, walmarts, flea markets, and dollar stores... you never see them anywhere else..... Except for that yellow one with the super scoop on 118th...
This is a picture of mine from 05 I think
The date on the camera is wrong. I never updated the date.

Ok, I read your post, I can see YOUR point of view on that car. I cant say that I agree with you though. Thats the beauty of being able to post our opinions. My opinion is that the car is ugly, uncomfortable, and unreliable. I have been in the automotive industry for quite some time and I can tell you I remember when that bastardization of a car came out and got dropped, the ongoing problems with them and the silly things people do to them to "try" to make them look good or race them. It was a dismal failure at best, worst marketing ventures and contributed to Ford's financial decline in the 99-02 era (which is the same years that body style came to exist and then died)
You are entitled to like that car, especially with all of that gaudy fiberglass modifications to it. Doesnt mean the car was a success, and will ever be a success no matter what "KIT" gets molded to it........ again, that Bugatti kit is 85K......on a 1500 dollar car? seriously?

then I'd say pick one with a shorter wheelbase and 2600lbs then you got plenty of room for ballast. Outlaw's allowed to be back halfed? I can't remember.

I never said you couldn't have an opinion. We should be on the same page about the car. I'm just saying that if the kit car was done correctly I will give them a pat on the back. You on the other hand are talking about a cougar and how ugly and unreliable it is.
