I'd let you come over and sit in mine, but I think you may be too fat of a bloke from the look of your arm in your avatar.

There was a fat mexican that had one at the QSL bike night a few times, maybe that was you? Looked like it held him up pretty good, along with all the panties that were getting thrown at him LOL>

T-Rex's are the epitome of gay in the sport bike world. They are extremely overpriced for what they are, they offer no protection what so ever in the event of a crash, provide no type of ammenities for the price you are paying, and on top of that are a pain in the ass to maintenance. You've got to figure, even though you're buying it as a "toy" and not driving it all the time, that thing runs the same drivetrain as a conventional 350lb motorcycle does. Thats alot of stress to be had on that motor.
Most people who buy them are assholes who want attention while rocking their Ed Hardy and Affliction shirts, and love spending 5 times the amount of money on servicing or repairing something.

I understand the motor/drivetrain is based on the motorcycle and is just dropped into the frame for the t-rex, but is there going to be that much of an impact on the strain of the motor? I understand lets say a 600cc bike engine is designed for a bike of that weight, so a 1300cc motor would just be that much more power that is un-needed realistically, and a 600cc isn't at all straining in a 350lb frame, so wouldn't a 1300cc engine be able to handle the difference in the weight without being heavily strained?

I honestly don't think its strained that much to the point where it will break immediately. I've seen few examples where they were dropped in Mark1 Golfs and they fucking rule. I'd just research into maintenance for it.

You're a little off in your thought process. The drivetrain is designed with more than likely a 530 or 525 chain with an output shaft and sprocket on the motor, and a sprocket on the rear wheel. It has nothing to do with power that the motor makes, its got to do with how much stress you're putting on that motor asking it to power an 1,100 pound machine through a drivetrain meant for something that weighs 400 pounds.

My neighbor had one BRIEFLY..... He traded his Busa and M3 for it. His was decked out with carbon fiber and all the extras.. It didnt last long I know he had a few problems with it. There is a forum for them I think it is based out of Miami..I did a quick google search for it and only found a dead one..
Im not sure why he dumped his but he replaced it with a skyline from across the pond ...For that kinda money you can get a NICE bikeand save some money..Just my opinion.

Honestly I'm not TOO concerned with the money, I have 3 cars currently, 1 is very rarely driven and one is driven maybe 1-2 days a week, so I will be getting rid of one to make room. It's not the money I am really concerned about, I will just have to fly out to maybe miami to see one before I purchase one. I would like to see one before I go through that hassle but if there's none in the area that may be my option I have to choose

I'd be more than happy to ask his opinions on it and see why he got rid of it f you'd like ..

If you wouldn't mind that would be great, and also possibly ask him if it was a local sale if you wouldn't mind.

Hey bro I talked to him today. He said its def a cool ride. It gets alot of attention... In his words too much . He couldn't leave it alone outside at the store or anywhere he couldn't see it . He also said maintenance was a killer. You need to be able to fix it yourself cause there are only a few people to do the work. Also parts are only available from like 3 places in the world so they rape you on price. He said there is a website I think it was www.trexofamerica.com where you can read all about them. Overall he said he would have a reg bike..Hope this helps man.. I M O not worth the headaches

He also said his was one of the newer ones with 3 lights on each side if that matters...
