where can i get a replacement air compressor tank?

my gas powered compressor has developed a pinhole on the bottom of the tank. i thought of just welding it up, but chances are as soon as it pressurizes itll just spring another leak soon if not imediatly. id like to just get a replacement tank for it. it is a 22gal tank. anywhere local in tampa that sells them? i just need the tank, nothing else. its prolly ~18in in diameter and maybe 2.5-3 feet long.

Unless that's a very old and expensive brand, chances are it's trashed. If it's anything from harbor freight, you should have gotten the warranty, otherwise it's probably just trash now. Best bet it to email the manufacturer.

^^ Good idea look up the model name and call them and see, I personally would just grind down the area and weld metal patches prime, paint and forget it.

But there nothing like an old compressor they are built soooo much better then the new stuff. Ive had mine for nearly 18 years. 3-5 times a year I empty the tank. Just make sure your tank free from any water build up.

its an old gas powered compressor (not harbor frieght) i got for free from a neighbor ~10 years ago. gas engine was bad, and it was OLD then. i put a honda engine on it and fixed the throttle control and it works great. the pin hole is on the weld where it starts/stops where an end tank is welded on. my dad, who has been a welder for 40+ years told me to just clean it up and tig the spot shut, that it was prolly just a weak spot in the weld due to it starting and stopping in that spot. ive looked inside the tank and dont see any rust, and there is never any water coming out when i open the drain valve. really dry air considering its a single stage compressor. i just need to get some mild steel filler rod. all i have is 308/309 stainless and 4043/5356 aluminum. usually use my mig for steel exhaust pipes and whatnot.

It sounded like the bottom was rusting out on it. I would def fill in the hole with a tig if you use the mig just make sure its nice and penetrated.

i was thinking that it was rusting out as well, but i looked closer and it is actually on the weld. and there is a lil bulge of weld right next to it and in the same spot on the other end tank. got to find some filler rod and fill it in. might just grab a piece of mig wire to use for the filler and just have to feed it fast.
