I never said all of them are. I said that every one I have experienced besides the ones mentioned have been shit, and those experiences alone have led me away from even considering an domestic vehicle. Understand that I can not put into words what I mean currently because I am drinking, but I am conveying that I refuse to buy domestic because of past experiences in specific vehicles. These experiences are very similar to what other people in my generation and younger have experienced, which is why domestic companies are hurting still.

You are the biggest idiot I have come across on TR, no joke. You are worse then any Honda owner. At least they can form somewhat logical disagreements.
And don't give me that intoxicated excuse, we all are here.
EDIT: and as I suspected, you drove one or two that took a shit on you. Boo-hoo. I drove my uncles Audi, the front bumper was cracked. All Audis have crappy-made body parts.Last edited by Taylorinalaska; 07-09-2011 at 11:56 PM.

If they are truly in trouble, they have no one to blame but themselves. Perhaps if Ford actually sent the Focus RS stateside they'd have captured a lot more sales.
Oh, and all manufacturers have fucked up at one time or another (or many times). The real questions are who fucked up most, and how did they address (fix) fucking up. I believe that to be one major reason for younger crowds going import, along with cars that are both affordable and fun to drive.
As to the original list... I do find it odd the GLi is listed, where the GTi is not. I also find it odd they're ranking VW over Honda.

There is the possibility that domestic mfg'rs don't pay attention to consumers.
In the 70's there was an energy crisis and the imports, mostly Japanese,
offered smaller/better gas mileage cars and got a marketing grip on this
country that was never gained back by Detroit. Detroit refused to believe
that consumers wanted smaller and more gas efficient cars.....until they
learned it from people buying imports.
One company that does pay attention to consumers.....mostly younger people......
is Scion. You have to understand the Scion car culture to know what I mean.
I can see that they are doing the right things and building brand loyalty.
In the mean time the US govt is dictating to Domestic mfg'rs what they should do,
and taking our Domestic mfg'rs down the toilet. When you accept govt money,
you accept govt control.-Bob---- on-site *Aftermarket* spring/suspension installations --- on-site impact wrenching---street lowering with your own stock springs...........

My 05 Montego has 70k and drives like brand new. I had it since 48k
My 01 Cougar drove like brand new and I sold it with 124k miles on it last year. Only trouble I had with that car was the Alternator and the Transmission (ATX-CD4E trannys that came in them were garbage) The MTX-75's were very reliable.
My 94 GMC Sonoma has close to 170k and drives like brand new. The only Major problem I've ran into it so far is the Driver side ball joint breaking two weaks ago and it was the OEM one.
My 96 Taurus drove like it was brand new. It had around 130-140k. Only reason I don't have it anymore because it came from up north and the salt ate up the subframe.
Never had any trouble with a Ford Aspire either. Only thing I didn't like about that car was no power steering.
Edit: All my other cars that I had which were imports always had something breaking. Only difference was that the parts that broke were dime a dozen. You could find them anywhere for a real cheap price.Last edited by CoRDiTe; 07-10-2011 at 06:09 PM.

it might have driven like they were brand new, but that doesn't mean they didn't drive like crap.
I've driven all of those cars and I can tell you that the import "counterparts" were far superior given the money.
