LOL Ford
American vehicles just can't get any better at being terrible:
http://www.raptorforumz.com/showthread.php?t=14208

...from the SVTForums apparentlySo, I took my truck to the dealer last week for service and to have them look into this issue. They had my truck for 3 days, and gave me a loaner in the process. They had it sent to the body shop for analysis, and they returned it saying there was no adjustments to be made. They called 3 days later and told me to come look at my truck, they wanted to go over a few things.
So I arrived, and walked back to the service bay, where they had my truck on a lift. The tech commenced to show me EVERY scratch on the underside of the truck, scratch on the skid plate, scratch on the rear shock protector, etc, etc. Finally, I said "I GET IT... What are you getting at? I didn't come here to have my scratches fixed under warranty".... He said, "Well, it just looks like you drive your truck pretty hard..."
At that point, I came unglued, and was highly irritated with the guy. I asked for him to show me what qualifies as "hard" use, and how that is judged? A few scratches? Aside from that my truck has NO damage, no actual dents or body damage, clean front to back.
I then invited him to come inside with me, visit Ford and watch how they drive the Raptor in their advertising and "Design" videos promoting the Raptor. They are professional drivers, I'm an average guy... I do not, and simply CAN NOT drive like they do in those videos...
So, I was given a customer care number to call, as the dealer says there isn't anything that they "know of" that they can do for the issue. They're not saying I'm not covered, they just have no idea what to do. So I called the rep, and was called back 3 days later. That's where I'm at now! I've been asked to provide more detailed pictures of the issue, as well as other trucks that have had this happen since I mentioned that this is NOT an isolated incident as we are coming to find out.
On a side note, this is NOT just a results of trucks that ran on the Raptor Run a few weeks ago, I think this is just the first time an entire group of guys that actually took their Raptors out and drove them as advertised, were able to share their findings on the same day... and we realized we have an issue on our hands!
Also, a vendor's truck:

The issue isn't even being caused by "crazy" driving either. The frame is getting bent by bumps on flat road.

I'm a truck guy and I will gurantee that they were not driving on bumps on flat roads. A few here can more than contest the level of abuse I put my F150 through that was not a specialty vehicle. I'd bet that most of these guys are Joe Lawyer who bought an "offroad" vehicle to play on the weekend with and had never been offfroad.

If it was one or 2 trucks I could understand, but apparently it was at least 10 of them. For a truck that Ford itself markets as a stock "off-roading" monster, not only have they proved they refuse to fix shitty customer service but they proved that the vehicle isn't intended for use the way it's marketed. If it were just an F-150 then it wouldn't be a big deal, but it's the top of the line Ford Truck. They refused to listen to any of the customer claims and have only said that it was driven "too aggressively" or "too hard" rather than take ownership for a mistake on their part.

They marketed it as an offroad truck, not a baja or rock crawler. Both the pics you posted look like they landed on something pretty hard lol.
St Pete, thrill hill, 55mph.......bent my exhaust and drove away no issues

The best part is in the Ford dealership they make fun of everyone else's truck frame and says how theirs is so much more superior. I loled.

From the first second I saw this truck it was marketed as a factory stock truck that can run baja. The raptor R even ran the baja 1000 and finished, with a stock frame.

So you are just as stupid outside of this forum as you are on here. You do know every car on that lot is better than yours right?
"mild offroading" by morons is very different from "extreme offroading by profesionals"
And all you see in those pics is the frame mildly bent causing the bed to rise against the cabin. Its actually very easy to do to a pickup truck if youre a good enough (bad enough) driver?Last edited by *JamReX*; 07-08-2011 at 08:59 AM.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it.
