Not really. Real wheel companies spend millions of dollars on R&D, and testing each wheel they make. Companies like Rota and Sportmaxx just copy the design and spit wheels out. No money is spent to ensure the wheels are actually of a good quality. It's all profit for them, and no cost.

This goes with it.
From Vipstylecars.com--
Here is a video that Weds Wheels made showing the difference between their wheels and an imitation wheel. My feeling, not only are you stealing someone’s engineering design, but you are also putting someone in ...danger. These Japanese wheels go through a strict certification process to be sold. Usually, imitation wheels do not go though such strict standards. Here is a quick rundown on the type of certification that REAL wheels must go through.
INTERNATIONAL COMPANY CERTIFICATION?
ISO 9001:2000 Certification – International Service Organization (ISO) is a worldwide organization that sets technical standards for testing and quality purposes for various international industries. ISO 9001:2000 is the latest quality management system for businesses. It basically creates a unique structure, development and implementation of a QMS in order to increase the quality of business transactions, quality and customer satisfaction.
JAPANESE?
JWL- Japanese wheels must have a “JWL” logo on the wheel and “JWL” (Japan Light Wheel Alloy) is a compilation of standards defined by the Japanese Government to ensure the vehicle’s safety for aluminum road wheels. Every wheel put to market must be tested to meet JWL standards before a wheel can be put out to market in Japan. These standards are generally accepted worldwide as acceptable for most road conditions. That is why you will see these marks on European and other Asian country wheels.
VIA Certification – Vehicle Inspection Association (VIA) is a third-party group in Japan which can test and verify whether or not any alloy wheels can meet JWL certification standards.
JAWA Certificate Sticker? The JAWA Quality Certificates: Since 1995, JAWA has introduced the “JAWA Quality Certificate” system to protect and develop consumer confidence in wheel safety and quality. The certificate guarantees that all products qualify to the JWL and JWL-T light alloy disc wheel standards approved by Japanese government.
VIA Mark?A third-party entity called the Vehicle Inspection Association verifies whether a product meets the requirements prescribed by the JWL or JWL-T standard. This association permits a product to bear a VIA mark if it passes rigorous quality and strength verification tests conducted in accordance with the JWL or JWL-T standard.See MoreLooking to buy or sell Real Estate, give me a call.

I have direct knowledge of the wheel testing that quality companies do . Without getting into details, as a wheel company you MUST know the liability you have for the quality and safety of your wheel.
I'm just wondering who will be the first person to try and justify their knock offs by posting in here.......Looking to buy or sell Real Estate, give me a call.

Does anyone who buys cheap wheels actually expect a quality wheel? I mean this is like telling people you'll catch on fire if you pour gasoline on yourself and hold a lighter.

Now what about the standard of "Replicas" Reason I ask is im running Replica ZR1 rims on my T/A and you cant tell the differance between the real ones till the weight factor. Mine weigh more then the real one. But where is the line drawn between Replica and cheap knock off?

who fucking cares? wheels are wheels. some of you act like the knock offs will just explode from NORMAL daily driving. all this vid told me was to not hit curbs.
but if you actually track your car, wether it be autox, drift, or what have you, dont buy cheap shit.__________________

But quite a few people track on cheap wheels... I mean they probably aren't making a lot of power, but still.
People seem to think that a company that sells real wheels making a video about "cheap wheels"(which would imply that every cheap brand has the same exact standards) being crap is 100% truth. Did anyone stop and think about how biased this may be? There are no names or specs given whatsoever, and one wheel style is tested.
I'm not a rota nutswinger, just don't think a company that sells higher end wheels should be doing the deciding tests. Obviously they would never say "wow these wheels held up well actually."

Read the entire thread before you make the same exact response as someone above you. Thanks.
Also, 2 wheel styles were tested. Way to watch the video.
