Change for the sake of change is not always good
senor honda
Easier to Read?....No Choice!
Black on white was easy to read. (TR Daytime)
White on black was easy to read (TR Nighttime)
White and/or Black on Grey is harder to read.....Looks like we have no choice, at least As of 2P-M 22 January.
---------------------------------------
Try reading the poster's name or the title of the post at the top?
Same lack of readability..........example:
Easier to Read?....No Choice!
It's almost impossible to read this line (above) unless you are
writing it. After you hit "post", it goes to a green? that fades out on the grey background.

Any chance of improving this for the car guys who read a lot? Thanks.-BobLast edited by senor honda; 01-24-2011 at 06:06 PM. Reason: Trying for a more understandable example

What makes you think this change was done for the sake of change? I have made at least 10 posts explaining why the upgrade was a requirement.

posting which parts are heard to read or look weird is good.
It was either an upgrade, or let the site decay more and more over the coming months until we shut it down. Technical problems stopped us from fixing many of the huge problems we were having with spam and the like, at least now we are on a more modern version of the software with many more options for us to adapt to changing conditions.
think of it as replacing all the body panels on your car with ones made from carbon fiber, but all different colors. You can paint over it and tidy it all up to match. If you'd left it with the old busted rusting stuff, no amount of paint would help fix the core issues.
I understand you guys don't adjust well to change, it's why we stopped adding to neatures to the site a while back but sometimes there is no way around it. We had to do this now.Stuff.

Its not change itself. Its the fact that the site looks like a total piece of shit and is impossible to read.
I noticed this same shit with the POS system at work. They "update" it to make it look all pretty, but now instead of having contrast between different buttons and such to make them distinct, they fucking wash everything out with some "pretty new color scheme" which makes it impossible to even tell what is a button and what isnt.
I mean, thanks for hosting the site and all but Jesus, please give us an option for vb3 style that is compatible.
Even the hexagons are stupid. I know this place is like a hive full of angry bee-s(eries "owners") but there was nothing wrong with the grid ...

The color scheme does look like crap...no contrast at all...kind of big sea of royal blue and little lighter blue...the below buttons, Post quick reply" and "Go advanced" are gray on gray where I can't see the text at all.

Got home from work and it seems fine on home laptop...I don't know if something changed but it looks much better now. Hopefully my work PC will look the same tomorrow.

senor honda justs posts to be a troll. He's probably the troll with the most time here on TR, he just does it in a way that no one, not even both Aharon and Zate realizes.

I was hoping the software update would have gotten rid of incoherant spammers like Senor Honda.
Regardless, thanks for your time and effort Aharon & Zate.

Seriously? You're a fucking troll, and apparently you don't fucking read. There is a thread for your incoherent posts in Pit Road. Learn to read that numbnuts.
I don't have a problem with the way the layout is now. Yeah, it's a lot of blue, but who cares? It's better than the old site, and a lot of the other forums I'm on have already made the switch to this. It runs smoother, less spam, and overall a better experience. Good job to the Admins.

am glad to see the site finally updated after 6 yrs as it had decayed to the point of being unusable ... but... this color scheme is very tired. I was hoping for some lighter themes or just something that at least looks different. I commend you for the job you've done on it but its just not very inviting or all that pleasing to the eyes.

Thanks for the explanations Aahron/Zate/John. We all appreciate it that you kept the site from self destructing and that any conversion almost never goes over smoothly........at least in every place I ever worked........hang in there and keep plugging away.
My usual fans have jumped in.......
