Would you spend money on performance first or looks? ;D

Well in general because some sports car doesnt look as good stock so people work on the looks.(Example Si's)

SI's AREN'T sports cars so maybe if you want to know about SI's you should ask the question stating the car is one?

This is a can of worms...
I personally like getting a car sitting right before I bother with the motor.

I personally went with performance over looks first, but I agree it depends on the car.

I spend for interior comfort/audio, then handling performance, then power performance, then finally the exterior looks. It depends on what you're after as well. You spend 100% of your driving time inside the car, so I prefer to have a comfortable and enjoyable drive. Then I like to address the handling, as it not only improves your suspension, braking, and grip, but wheels and brakes can add a little aesthetic appeal in the process. And learning to drive the car properly helps before dumping power into it. Next is power, and then finally I'll get around to dealing with exterior looks, if any are even required.
I was smart and bought a new car that already had a proper interior/audio, and performance suspension, so I actually went straight to performance.
With an older/used car, I usually prefer to fix things and do maintenance, and half the time, upgrading the suspension takes care of "maintenance" items like bushings and joints anyways so it kills two things in one shot.

From self experiences im done with trying to go "fast" it costs way to much money and theres always something you have to do. If you have the funds, then performance all the way. But if you have a small budget, go for looks.

identify where your car is lacking, then begin modifying it where you see fit. too slow? go fast bits. Bad handling? suspension and brakes. Don't change things you are happy with to make it "cool" or whatever in someone else's eyes.

+1 go fast money is generally in the thousands and generally increases because there's always more that has to be done, parts to be added etc. Mods for looks can easily stay in the thousands if you are smart and look around for parts. Also once you make an aesthetic mod it's generally permanent. You don't have to go back over it and "tweak" or adjust anything.

performance to me IS the same as good looks. Throw some lightweight wheels, good tires, good brakes, and coilover suspension on most cars... It will look good to anyone who knows what they're looking at, and it will perform very well.
No ricer shit like cf hood, faggot rare jdm body pieces or anything like that. That's just to impress groups of highschool boys. This is a stick up, don't make it murder.

I went for looks first then performance on my 328i but it depends if ur trying to go fast or have ur car looking clean. Its truly just a personal preference.
