IFO...what you guys think?

i was unable to attend because of a family function but ive been to several around the southeast including a couple at gainesville to help a buddy with his SRT4, those were a bit on weak side as far as spectator attendance the racers/show cars showed up strong. In the end i guess i didnt miss much except for alot broken neons and horrible times from the same bunch. Hope they get their cars sorted and do better next time, what about the rest of you what are your thoughts? reason i ask is because alot of you guys have been wondering why we dont get any major events at BMP....its mainly because we the enthusiasts of this area arent united enough to make things happen like they do in SFL or even Orlando. Its pretty simple, the organizers put on the event and its up to us to represent our area something that hasnt happened in a while around here. I still remember the Xbox Drag Series and the National Sport Compact Racing Series back when BMP was a NHRA track that got national recognition. Them days are long over because of dwindling enthusuiasm. What im trying to do is get feedback so that the right people can improve upon this experience to make the next IFO a blast for all. Thanks

As far as the honda crowd goes im starting to notice that alot of the nicer swapped cars are concentrating Alot more on the hardparking wich is cool but are slowly merging away from racing which is really what matters and why you do this. What good is it to have such a nice motor and not run the thing just park it at every Racing Event you go too?

I think you can look good and Race at the same time....just my opinion

I think that most of the people that are into racing have graduated to faster cars or non-honda/Neon etc etc. I'm not hating, I am being serious. 3 of my buddies that all used to race graduated to 996's and a fourth to a Nissan GTR. Another large portion of them drift instead of drag....Just an observation?

Nah i think it puts to much stress on ur engine if u notice how almost every car that ran yesterday something went wrong and it also might be that most of those ppl didnt no how to drive

The reason the "Race" scene is dying, is because of things like this:
Imported cars race down interstate on way to competition

You've got a lot of morons who don't know how to keep it at the track. Even on the way there they couldn't contain themselves. How fucking hard is it?

Also the stigma associated with owning a Honda/import has grown tired on a bunch of people. Most of them have grown up.

Agreed, it is a combination of a lot of these factors.

Infiniti Q45 lowered 3.5", the 240 was stolen and stripped by some local kids. We caught them though.

A little of everything. I think I posted it in the Stolen Thread way back when...it was about 3 years ago now. I made out pretty well all things considered. Got lots of the car and parts back, got insurance, and got money through the courts...
