I'm not sure if they still carry them...but I know I got a pair of them from Autozone last year...they just fit inside the socket for a regular brake light bulb

They are not bright enough for daytime use. A few years back I purchased the "best" LED replacement tail light bulbs available with LEDs that fired in all directions (back into the reflector, to the sides, and to the rear). Still couldn't see them for shit in full daylight. Don't be suprised if you get a ticket or rearended (or both).

superbrightleds.com Find the correct bulb, and order them. Shipping takes like 2 days and you'll spend less money.
I get all my bulbs from them, and it's always cheaper and they are very fast about shipping.

well yeah, and in those applications, they are great.
What I was saying is that they might not be awesome for brake lights.
EDIT: let me rephrase that... they might not be good for brake lights where you are replacing one bulb with one LED. If you are going from one bulb to several LEDs then that's great. The more LEDs you have, the more light output you get. I forget where they say the brake even point is as far as light output goes. I do know you can have quite a few LEDs on before you get to the break even point as far as voltage usage goes and at that point, you would have several times the light output.
