The 2011 FIA Formula One World Championship Thread

Well I know I lost track of the last thread, and didn't even make one for last year but here we go now, even though the start of the season is a while off I figured I'd make this thread.

The 2011 season is marked by more rule changes, namely:

Connected shark fins are now disallowed
Slots in the beam wing and rear main wing are now disallowed
Double diffusers and exhaust blown diffusers are now disallowed
Driver adjustable aerodynamics other than for the rear wing (replacing those on the front wing) are disallowed
Splitters must meet a certain level of rigidity in their supports
Mandated weight distribution, double tire tethers, and other minor limitations

Have you seen the 2012 or 2013 setup? I think it was a 1.6L 4 cylinder turbo and max revs at only like 12,000RPM? They are allowed 5 engines the 1st year and only 4 engines per year in the following years. Says they will save 35% in fuel.

They don't hate us they just don't feel the love of American's who party for days on end watching cars go nothing in a circle. Seriously when you see the fans overseas do you see a bunch of drunken idiots doing anything but watching the race? 24 hours of Sebring, nothing but a huge party with only a few hundred actually sitting up on the hills viewing the race.

I need to get a DVR by March if I want to watch this season or maybe switch over to Windows 7 and see how that works.

Sounds like an interesting car set up this year with the changes.

Lotus Motorsport today unveiled it's 2011 Formula One World Championship car at the Autosport International show in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Previously Renault F1, the team has been renamed as Lotus Renault from the start of the 2011 season. The team has returned to it's iconic black and gold livery which graced it's world championship winning car in 1972 amongst others
