Wanna go racing for cheap cheap?
I give you the dirt dauber class at eastbay raceway.
Stock v-6 or v-8 rear wheel drive.
Remove all lights and glass, hoosier dirt track tires on the rear, dot's on the front.
Once a month they wet the track down with a water truck at the end of the night and we race. To keep people from setting their cars up and getting too serious they run to the left or right. You can have a passenger. Janien rode with me at the last one, before the race was over she was already saying, 'we need to get me a car'
Come check it out this Saturday 10/09, it's $12 to get in and the crowd is just as entertaining as the racing.
Started with this:
Went racing with this:
and came home with this:
We had a blast and are in the process of getting a '97 cougar ready for Janien to run this week. Here's a link to a shot of us pushing someone down the entire front straight, you can click through other pictures on the right of the screen.

Wow! A blast from the past BBB. Good to see your still into cars. I miss your Buick. I have a buddy that races in the street car class. But he had to put in a cage and pull the glass. I think its a 4cyl class. +1 on the crowd. Very entertaining.

Unfortunately we got in a pile up on the first lap and once we got straightened out we were dead last and about a half lap behind the next car. Got back up to fifth (there were only seven cars, so I don't know if it's something to brag about) in about three laps but then the water got worked into the clay and it just turned to muck. After that you're just fighting to maintain, there's isn't much passing going on unless someone loses it. The car's fine and ready to go this weekend which is the important part. It would suck if you had to fix a lot of stuff every time, washing the car is bad enough.
Still have the Buick, just between work and our newest addition, Kylee (that just turned two already), we don't make it out like we used to. Just got Janien's Chevelle out of moth balls now that it's cooling down and I'm starting to get the itch again as well. If you're there this Saturday (or any week they run the dirt daubers) look for us, we'll be there.

Nice, I was thinking about how a Vic would do before I scrolled down to the pictures. Looks like a lot of fun. I got a friend with a POS Jimmy that I've been wanting to go out and play in the mud with, are SUVs allowed?

No trucks or SUV's. The guy that won the last one was in a six cylinder thunderbird and he said it was perfect because he couldn't spin the tires. We've got a six cylinder cougar for Janien and if the six cylinders end up in front this time I'll probably be selling the vic

Every time I go to eastbay I want to get on the track. I really wanted to do fan participation but my car is too low and that track is too bumpy at the end of the night.

I like your tape lines.

"They were crying when their sons left, God is wearing black. Hes gone so far to find no hope, hes never coming back. They were crying when their sons left, all young men must go. Hes come so far to find the truth hes never going home."

Its gonna get beat up anyways.
No rear wheel 4cyl?
Yea the Vic is horrible about spinning tires.. Even on pavement if you have a heavy foot..
How much do you have into said cars?? Im just curious what it would cost to get in on it..
