My arguement and pay back.......
A co-worker of mine has some slight jealously over my camaro. I only talk about it if someone asks about it but he thinks thats all i do is talk about it.
So an eclipse pulls into our valet lot and he says
"Leon this GS-T has 210 hp stock can you handle that power?"
Me "Well Greg my car puts out closer to 370 hp so I think i can"
Him "Well this car has it stock... it has it stock.. so that means your camaro should have 420 hp stock"
Me "Greg you cant determine things like that"
Him "No this is just a 4 cylinder and you have a V8"
I went ahead and parked the eclipse (it was NA, he was fooled by the GS-T wing and rims).
So this made me kind of angry... So the next day an Integra type R pulls in. This is Greg's favorite car.
All the valets (10) are standing around cuz its slow when the Teg pulls in.
Immediately Greg gets in it to park it and he's feeling the steering wheel and shifter.... has a smile on his face.... etc.
Me "Greg this Type R has a pretty pathetic engine in it.. I mean it only has 190 hp as compared to that Eclipse that has 210. I thought Type R's are suppose to be fast?"
Him getting really defensive "This isnt a drag car its an auto cross car"
Me "Still this car should have more power than a freakin Eclipse, what kind of gas mileage do these things get? If my old V8 gets 28 mpg on the highway shouldnt this car get 88 mpg on the highway. Mine has a 5.7 liter where this has a 1.8 liter.. why does it only get like 32.. Thats a really inefficient engine."
At this point everyone is watching and he's really feeling the heat. He knew it was pay back for the day before.. But still having some fight left in him...
"Well your car still only came with 285 hp stock and this one still has twice the power"
Me "Actually horsepower is calculated from torque and torque determines how powerful an engine is and my car has closer to 3 times the torque of this Type R." So technically my engine is 3 times as powerful."
He had enough.. Sometimes its hard to argue facts with people. So I use the ricer arguements like the gas mileage arguement to show them how their logic works.
Greg did apologize and its all good though... He knows whats faster and what handles better but the way he looks at the mechanics of things is wrong sometimes.

Boy am I glad I don't have to deal with the daily dumb ass exposure you get from having to work around that guy.
Where do you guys valet at? I need to avoid any chance of having a guy like this get a hold of my car.

Good stuff Z. I gotta hear the same stuff but it always makes me smile. I let them say whatever they want. I know who's gonna be first to the line...strip or road course. LOLChuck

One of my friends works at a Country Club and gets to Valet, Ferraris, Porsches, Lamborghinis all the time, I would love to have that job.

I have never let anyone but me, my wife and a good family friend who also used to be our race car driver operate my vehicle.
I never know if I will have to depending on where I have to go, but I certainly prefer not to whenever I can do it myself.
Ferris Bueller's Day Off has put too much fear into me to let someone I do not know have access to a nice vehicle.

Hey Chuck... Just let me go down the street and put some gas in your Viper... that'd be better than the 10 dollar tip

Im sure the Type R gets something different than 32mpg but it was just for arguement sake.
He's not usually that bad actually. He knows my z would kill a Type R and he knows a Type R would kill my car on a tight road course.
Yeah I wouldnt valet park my car either. Dont get me wrong I take good care of the cars but your still giving your car to someone you dont know. At the same time if you park in the parking garage you run the chance of someone hitting you there or opening there door and hitting yours. More damage has been caused by customers hitting costumers than Valets running into something. There has been 2 valet related accidents this year and about 2 dozen customers related accidents.

Yeah, I would never valet my car. Even though it's a piece of shit. Hell, I have a hard time letting close friends drive my car. Plus, if I was a valet driver I would beat the living shit out of the cars on my way to park them.
