Need cheap tires that hook
I need a new set of tires for the back of the Mustang that must hook pretty well and be under $100 per tire. Looking at probably a 235-255/50-16 to put on the stock pony wheels. I found a bunch on tirerack.com and tires.com...but I need opinions on the best hooking of the bunch. Thanks.

Aside from nittos, there is a tire company called McCreary's. It's a circle track/ dirt track tire. They're about 109 apiece I think. It's really soft compound w/ a soft sidewall. They hook. But the life is short. But anything u want to hook isn't gonna last long. You knew that right?

Mcreary's
Marks right, I used to run 1.7's 60' ft times with these. However they are deadly in the rain

07-04-2002 12:07 AM #7Found a set of Kumho 712's for $98 a piece shipped from www.tires.com . I think I'll give these a shot. I really don't care about spending money on a better tire since I am selling the car since I just need a couple decent tires on the back that aren't bald.Originally posted by "Joker"

Found the size I need in the 711 (which I couldn't find online) for $70/tire. Total for 2 tires mounted w/tax comes to just under $200. Anyone know of any better local deals?

are those Azenis any good in the rain? If only bridgestone was making the re721 still, those were an awesome tire. Hey did you check on tires.com they ahd the nitto drs $65 in 225/50/16s, if they have em in stock anyway.
