Hey Leonard, I got one for you. I'm working in New Mexico and I'm at the house of the owner of a TurboDrivenConcepts '97 S-351 Saleen Twin Turbo....this car is bad ass. I'lkl post the link to the site, but there have been some changes..it now has 1600hp (dyno proven) and runs 40psi. And you don't even want to know what he paid for it!
p.s. It's for sale!!!

I can think of a few other things too. For one, a stock cast iron ford small block is not good for much more than 1,000 HP for very long. Even if the car is running a racing block and rods he is taking serious chances putting out more than 4 HP per cubic inch. I don't think you can trust a high end forged FSB crank to hold more than 1,200 HP for very long either.Originally posted by "stangerang"

That guy was certainly taking his chances squeezing out that kind of power long enough to record it on a dyno. He is lucky he didn't create a big KABOOM while trying to do it.
Then again, some people like blowing up their shit if it gets them more power than the next guy. I prefer the kind of performance you can get over 100,000 miles out of.

06-28-2002 08:02 PM #11BillyGuestI agree that that is kinda pusing it, but as far as I know that was a one time deal running very high boost and race gas on the dyno. I think that on a normal basis he runs it at lower boost and puts out about ~1100-1200hp. But don't quote me on it. Ky, the owner has joined the board, so maybe he can shed some more light on exactly what the car runs day to day. Although I did hear mention of 9.xxx 1/4 mile times on street tires.Originally posted by "400HP930"

I'm not denying that the car can produce those powers on demand.
Its just that each time he does that for even short periods of time he might as well be rolling a 20 sided die and going kabluey on 0.

Agreed, but I do know that the car ended up at another tuner after TDC got done with it. They went over it and fixed some of the shortcomings left by TDC.

Normally I run the car at 7-15 psi, all day long, I have run 23 psi in 4th gear doing 180 MPH.
The car is not a daily driver, but more of a weekend race/show car.
I have never had any problem with caracked rods, the only problems I have had is a heavy right foot, and my distributor, but I am in the process of taking care of that now.1997 S-351 TT 1600+HP

Hey man, welcome to TR.
Lets not forget that you are being protected by the limitations of traction.
Unless the car is launching with crazy drag slicks or strapped down to the dyno you will never have enough drivetrain resistance to put more than 1000 HP through the system.
Its sounds like quite a fun ride while it holds together though.
