Mazda or VW?

Hey T.R i'm about to pick up another car and i was wondering what the pros would be to getting a miata over a passat. I do like the fact that it's a convertible but besides that the passat seems to be a lot more roomy. i don't care about 2 or 4 doors. Would the end effect just be personal opinion or are there things i should know about the miata?


miata is a 93 with 53000 original miles and the passat is an 03 with 135000 miles both go for around the same price so i just want to see which one would be better. if i could i would get both but i can't so yeah.

i was thinking that as well, it can still be modded and put in a sick stance. somewhat V.I.P if you want to call it that. but the miata would be fun to drive .

You're comparing 2 completely different cars.

I would get the miata. I know Im not gay and I don't give a shit about what others think. Those who think you're gay for driving a miata are very ignorant. Im sure the miata would out-handle the passat.

If you're looking for something to dd and haul your friends when you hang out, then get the passat.
If you'e looking for something to dd, have fun in, and beat the shit out of, then get the miata.

miata hands down...don't worry about gay jokes, its the most commonly raced car because its a great car to drive

Miata if you want performance and fun/track driving, the passat if its just a daily...

Just as others have said it depends on what you will be using it for. I would get the miata because I have always wanted one for Autox or track use, but the passats do look pretty nice, and you would be able to haul around a couple friends if need be.

You're going to get a passat for stance rather then a miata? Have you not seen the miatas in F&S? I'd think that a miata would be cheaper and be a little more original that ANOTHER VW.

Get a car that fits your lifestyle. If you have more than one friend or do outdoor activities that require carrying equipment, I would get the passat.

I would personally go for a wagon, If it's going to be functional, might as well go all out.

Broken record, depends on the purpose. Get the miata if you want a cheap fun car. The passat if you want a car to get in, drive and have the capabilities of putting more than one person and a bag or two in it. Both have the ablilty to look damn sick. Its pretty obvious that you cant compare the handling between the two so Im gonna bother. Stance wise, well there are more people that have done it to passats (which will help alot when selecting wheels and sizes). Not to mention ever see how low you sit in a miata when its lowered enough to have stance? Your head would be gone asap in a accident. But thats just my opinion. Like I said both can have killer stance, just depends on your purpose....
