Thats what I was thinking. If you are in the market for a car and you're ranging from a Passat to a Miata, there are other choices that may be better suited for you.

well here is the kicker and that helped me made my choice.

miata is a 93 and guy wants 6500

passat is an 03 and guy wants 6500

i am not paying 6500 for a 93 build year

you can get a early 90's miata with like 140,000 and under for less than 3 grand all day.


passats are royal peices of shit from my experience. my girl has an 04 1.8t and just about every light is on the fucking dash lol.

this miata has 53k original miles

and i am not going with the passat i just got done reading some bad issues with the oil not getting cooled enough and it sludging ( spelling) up the turbo and breaking the engine. so i am off to look for a different car. at 135k miles i have no idea what condition that engine is in.

Why don't you do a little more investigation to how much the miata is worth in it's position.

If you want a big, heavy car that looks nice but has tons of nickel and dime problems as well as a few seriously expensive repairs, get a Passat.

If you want a cheap, fun little car that will get you there, get a Miata.
