Car issue question
Im thinking its the alternator but before i shell out the bucks and time to replace one. I want to make sure.
The car was running fine yesterday for a while then all of a sudden i was giving it gas and the car wouldnt accelerate and lost power. First gear would loose power around 20mph 2nd around 40mph and i got back home and i tried turnning the car on and idle it and it basically spit and sputtered then died on me and i cant get it to start again.
Is there a way to check to see if it is your alternator?Driving definitions: Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and Torque is how far you take the wall with you.

i talked to ray he said it could have been bad gas until i told him my car wont turn over, i dunno. my lights work and stuff, although they are a little dim. Ive been driving on the gas though for about a week or so and nothing happened so im thinking it aint that. I thought maybe my starter but that wouldnt cause the sympthoms that i was getting while driving and id still be able to start the car by push starting it(5spd). Thanks puto.

Yeah take it off and go to autozone, they will put it on their machine and check it for free.
Also did you pull the plugs to see what they look like? Could even be a fueling problem. When is the last time you have changed the fuel filter? I would suggest trying lucas injector cleaner (my injectors were loud as hell before I used this stuff). Both of these could be done for under $10 and might help.

I cant turn the car on to be able to get a injector cleaner to go through the system.

Will the starter not even turn the motor over? How much gas is in it? If you don't have much in there you could put the whole bottle in after replacing the fuel filter. Turning it over could send enough through the line...maybe. If you have a lot of fuel in it though I wouldnt bother. If it's a fueling problem the plugs could look like the car has been running lean.
Try pm'ing flubyux2. He knows quite a bit about rotaries, he's even mexican...so you know he's good

when you get a proble with your car. start with the basics.
make sure you are getting air/ letting it out freely, make sure youre getting fuel, then make sure you have spark.
my money is on a clogged fuel filter. check the fuel pressure.

i know it sounds simple...but make sure you have a good connection to your battery. i've done it before and thought it was several things...then finally i started with the simplest thing and tada.

Turns out its the starter... go figure, i dunno how that would cause it to run really rough though. But i got it push started and it ran fine. So looks like im in replacing that.

The starter didn't caust the running issue.
Expect the problem to return. One of these days when my time has come, You can take me back to where I'm from.
Put me on a westbound train, An' ship me off in the pourin' rain.

Im thinking if the starter caused a electrical issue that would cause the problem with spiting and sputtering like it did. Although the #1 spark plug was flooded to high hell so that may be more of the issue. Its for my 96 sentra, not rx7. ill see if it fixed it.
