New Roadster!? From VW!? TDI???

I was at cvs and passed by the mag. section, I ran into a mag. talking about a new roadster that will be competing mainly agaisnt the BMW Z series and Mazda Miata. No S2000 since, Honda discontinued it.... WTF...

Anyway.

Has anyone seen, heard, anything?

All I know is..

Its a typical Sporty looking roadster, rwd, 2 seats, vet, it looks very nice to me, VW styling is awesome so no worries.

But the best part...... With a chasis weighing about the same as the miatas, 09, the car will be sporting a 4 cyl turbo diesel engine, with 170hp, and 260trq!

Sorry I'm not as up to date as you I dont post every new thing about every car every where at all times like you do.

does anyone else think the production version if made, will have 260trq?

if vw is realy planing to do what the article said about taking turbo diesiel into the performance car world, then i think 260trq is a good chance of happening.

Pushing 260 lbf ft torque out of a Diesel engine is VW's easiest trick.

German Turbodiesel engines are superb, I just don't like the noise they make.

98% of the cars VW sells in Europe (that includes Audi, Skoda, Seat) are Turbodiesels....they know their business

maybe the boxter engine powering it with awd drivetrain, im sue that would be awsome in such a small car lol
