brake drums quick question
I have an older model 25+ years truck. Drum is very rusted.
After taking off the rim the drum "cover" with the studs connected should just fall off correct? There is nothing attaching it correct?

Hammer. It's not secured by anything, but it's rusted and heat cycled on.

Put me on a westbound train, An' ship me off in the pourin' rain.

chances are you need adjust the brakes and loosen them up. There probably is now a lip on the edge of the drum and the brake shoes are catching that lip and not letting it slide off easily.

no nuts. there should be a plug or a knock out plate you have to remove or knock out then you use a screw driver or adjustment tool and turn the adjuster back, Those two screws are probably for the wheel cylinder

Okay, I found the rubber plub and seen like a rack and I pushed it "away" from the drum cover and it clicked several times..
Is this the right direction I am going?

nope, you are just tightening it, there is also a littlle plate or bracket you have to push outta the way. This prevents the adjuster from loosening up.

Okay. Tried the penetrating oil. Didn't work. There was two thread holes in there so I put a bolt in there and I broke it a little.
This thing is just a pain in the ass stuck on here.
