Car Advice
So I have been looking into getting a newer car for quite some time now. It has taken a while to find out what I wanted exactly, so I had started with a big list of cars that fit something I liked. Newer, some luxury, quick, stylish, modifiable, non-Euro and for some time I was leaning towards sedan. But now since I am keeping the Legend the sedan part isn't as important, but I'd like it.
For a while my finalists were the CTS-V, STS-V, and 07-08 TL-S. I love the fast sedans. But with GM's recent troubles, I threw out those two.
So I had decided on the TL-S, but prices were still high and I realized I was looking in the $20k-$25k range which turned out to be too rich for my blood. I had eliminated some far off choices that weren't logical for insurance and such, C5 ZO6 and the NSX.
I then realized my budget for financing something nice and newere was in the $10k-$15k range. Which eliminated many other options on my long list.
Sorry for the long back story, but basically here is where I stand.
I have narrowed it down to the following: Lexus IS300, Honda S2000, Acura RSX, Nissan 350Z, and Lexus GS300, Acura TL, and Acura TSX as kinda farther out options.
So if you took the time to read all that, and have an opinion on the cars listed above, please give me some feedback. If there is something not covered on my list in the price range, I'm not opposed to something different, although I have eliminated many options. Just so you don't waste your time I'm not looking at any BMW, Benz, Audi, VW, Chevy, Ford, Kia, Hyduai, Cadillac, etc. Essentially my brands are Acura/Honda, Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti.
Thanks alot.

I really like the GS300 with an aggressive wheel set up. Something with a nice, classy lip on the back. Do you plan to heavily mod the car? Or just throw some wheels on it and call it a day?

Dude those cars are all over the place. What do you want out of it? An s2000 will not give you the same things a RSX can, a IS300 can't give you the things a 350z can, etc. Cruising, going fast in a line, going fast in corners, etc?

deciding on a used car is tough, but are you paying cash or financing?
a 5 year old car will not get the same terms as a 1-2 year old car... (i.e., a 5 year old lexus will cost you more monthly than a 2 year old lexus in payments).
Out of the ones you listed...the Lexus GS300. May also want to look at a 2008 Pontiac G8 GT.... but i am biased.

^ what he said.
only bad thing is on the coupe you cant roll down the windows when your car is wet unless you want to get soaked.
besides that . comfortable (been on a 400 mile road trip in it) - reliable (i got it half a year ago..but so far so good!) - Has back seats unlike the Z - fast - stylish sex on wheels, but thats just my opinion.Last edited by fourbanger; 07-14-2009 at 08:12 PM.

Pontiac G8! What does the companies troubles have to do with it being a good car? If not than a g35 coupe for sure!

Best way to narrow down would be to test drive as many from your list as you can. I would go for the Lexus GS400/430, but I am a bit biased

Thank you all for the advice. I really am unsure and all over the place. I am financing as well, I cannot afford to buy it out. But I think I'm going to be financing through USFs credit union.
I am looking for a combination of luxury, fast straight line, good looking, and modern. A G35 was suggested, and I like those coupes actually.
I think unfortunatley I might have eliminated the S2k because I do want something luxurious and more modern than my 93 Legend, and the interior is very simplistic.
I want to be able to mod the car as well, the Legend has few mods. So even if not super fast to start off with, something than can be made fast. I'm a fan of TQ more so than topend I think.
It sucks because the 07-08 TL-S seemed to fit perfect. Looks amazing, nice and luxurious. Can be modded to be faster. But it is still way too expensive still. Unless I could wait a year, which is fine, and spend closer to $18 or so.
Thanks again.

based on your love for the sedan and your budget, you NEED to look into I35. Basically a luxury Maxima with a VQ35de 3.5L 255hp V6.
The only real issue with them is the turning radius is below average, but they are a lot of fun and still have luxury. Also, most Maxima upgrades fit so they are mod friendly.Looking to buy or sell Real Estate, give me a call.
