any megasquirt tuners?
i have been unable to get ahold of toydr and need some help with some tuning. its a ms2 on ver3 board. 4 bar map, aem wideband, 780cc/min injectors, edis 6 ignition, gm air and coolant temp sensors, stock 7mgte tps etc.. everything is calibrated and it is driveable. just wont boost very high. after comparring my timing map with that of other supra owners i know my timing isnt the issue. im sure its fuel related. at one point i had it tuned well enough to smoke the drag radials in 3rd gear from a roll but wouldnt go over 5600 rpm and revlimit is set to 7k.
if anyone out there has experience tuning the ms2 lmk. id like to do this without killing the engine or blowing the hg. thanks.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042690/1 black 84 supra, 7mgte, truetrac, bbk, etc.. more in the works

that name sounds familiar. if its who i think it is i think he may do it for me. did he work at the old shop they had on dale mabry? if so he wanted to see my car when i got most the crap on it anyway. its far from done but should still run good when tuned right.

my friend eric knew a guy named brian that tuned ms. had it on his turbo mustang as i recall and eric had it on his mr2. i had planned to go to xat to tune it when i got it on as it was like 1/2 mile from my house and they had a dyno. was bummed when i went by and it was closed.

Brian has his own company now, EFI unlimited, and his number is 7276572956.
Megatune is a lot like FAST's interface and programming. If you know someone who can work that system you're probably good too."They must really feed each other to the lions down there........"

We tried to run a Microsquirt on the Formula SAE car last year and I was not impressed, to the point where we all decided to trash it and ended up going with a DTA S0-Pro (we will never run a Mega system again)
good luck with your search though

idk, i was very impressed with my ms2, then again im comparing it to the stock 7mgte engine management with piggy backs. wit hthe ms2 the throttle response is instant. literally. and the power increase from swapping to it with no other changes was phenominal. id say i gained 60-80rwhp easily. most of that im sure is timing control but still. also, what did you use for ignition on the microsquirt? im using the ford edis6. it will run the timing at 10deg fixed on its own. the ms2 just has the pip and saw lines connected to alter the timing curve. works great for me. the edis module even does the dwell calcs on its own internally. lots of people using it with stock toyota coil packs with no issues. one guy is over 700rwhp.

our problem was the coil drivers. with the micro we kept blowing them up, and had no idea why we kept popping them. as it turns out, the mega squirt had adjustable trim pots that allowed for resistance changes, whereas the micro did not. we felt that the whole system was a pain in the ass, and not worth the trouble to get setup and tune. secondly, we had to modifuck our flywheel in order to get the damn thing to read the 17-1 (i think thats what it was, dont quote me on that) trigger wheel.
with the DTA, we were able to tune our turbocharged single cylinder in a matter of hours. we could also run any trigger pattern we wanted, and with the built in oscilloscope we were able to get the motor sorted out and starting in a matter of minutes
overall, we feel that the microsquirt and megasquirt systems are not a solid enough ECU, and we just decided to go with the more established (IE pre built) unit. I know for a fact that MANY people have gotten them to work just fine, but a single cylinder engine is an entirely different animal to tune

yeah, single cylinder idk how well it would work. if i knew it would work well i might turbocharge my 4wheeler with a td-02. i dont have issues with coil drivers. the coils are driven from the edis module. ive even thought of buying the boost control colinoid and using the ms2 for boost control. reason i havent is id rather go with an aftermarket ebc so i can change the boost without using the laptop or a palm. being able to just push a button to change it at will is nice.

Pretty much if you decide to build a MS system you going to have something that will need trouble shooting afterwards. I accidentally wired my IAC chip into my coil driver circuit, so that rewarded me with $70 worth of white smoke.
My crank trigger circuit gave me all sorts of fits, even with a clean sine wave at the sensor and a perfect square wave at the processor. Sent it out to get repaired/troubleshooted and wound up getting charged for a firmware upgrade (was still on a beta release DOH).
Don't know if you had a MS1 version, but the trimpots on the MS2 board are only for adjusting the VR circuit."They must really feed each other to the lions down there........"
