heres my timing map. any experienced tuners got any tips on what i should change and where and how much? i really want to learn this so i can do it on my own as i will always be changing and upgrading things and paying to have iut tuned after every change just isnt gonna happen. cant afford that and the mods

Are you using a trigger wheel on the crank pulley?
-

yes. 36-1 trigger wheel on the crank pulley with a edis6 module firing the stock 7mgte coils. why? this map worked great back in feb when it was cold. but now not so much. im just not sure how much timing to pull out. i tried last night and guessing i pulled too much as it just got worse. lol
some pics of it on this page. cant get to photobucket from work to just post a pic here

Martin at z fever is really good with tuning any system. You should take it to him.

well its raining and im bord so tweaked the timing table after viewing all the timing tables i could find for turbo engines. heres what i got

also tweaked the afr table from what it was. between this and the ign table i think ill be ok. i can prolly add more timing in but will wait to do that till i can go on a dyno. ill load the file and test it tomarow when it isnt raining. lol.

did more tweaking ,same shit. checked the datalog and some reason the rpm sig drops to 0 when this happens. stays 0 if i keep my foot on the gas and engine is dead. as soon as i let off it comes back. wierd as shit.

fixed the sig problem and think i figured out the cause of the spikes in my vbatt voltage too.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042690/1 black 84 supra, 7mgte, truetrac, bbk, etc.. more in the works

can anyone with megasquirt go to this link and look at my datalog? i put the resistor in and solved the vbatt spikes but loosing ign signal again. im thinking maybe spark blowout causing an issue wit hthe edis. happes ~3800rpm in 3rd and 4th. yet if off boost ive reved as high as 5k no probs. didnt try higher as 5k rules out a gap issue i think since i know the bracket isnt moving at all. could it be cause im using solid motor mounts? or do you think just shitty plugs?

ok, while changing the plugs i noticed 2 of my coils have cracks in them. im suspecting that under boost those 2 coils are arcing to the metal coil bracket and causing all these stupid ign signal issues. prolly making the edis cut out when its arcing like that. friend of mine has an extra coil pack thats good and im gonna see if i can pick it up from him today. ill keep everyone posted if that resolves it.

ok, havent gotten to change the coils yet but the problem loosing the ign signal is gone. i put a new coil pack harness on when i changed the plugs as 2 of the connectors on mine were broken so i just pushed the pins where they go. im guessing the coils were arcing to one of the pins cutting out the edis. thats all i can guess. i boosted the car and its fine. turned it up to 15, same, turned the manual controller to max which was 20psi when cold out. fine. though it spikes to 20psi on the gauge and levels off at 18. pulls great even in the heat. im guessing i need to add more timing up top as it kinda falls on its face shortly after 5k. i added a lil more and it helped so prolly still need more still. im still going to change the coils out and try to order the 25uf cap online since i cant find one local. the cat and afr's still bounce all over when cruising. what is clt?
msq and dataog are on the same link as before.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2042690/1 black 84 supra, 7mgte, truetrac, bbk, etc.. more in the works

clt=coolant temp. Your new timing map is a drastic change from your old one. I would suggest smoothing out the timing values, it pulls timing hard. Just tune your afr's & leave timing for the dyno. Keep an eye on your egt's. Peace!
