The bad thing about sleepers they look like shit.
I rather have a slow nice looking car.

the bad thing about a slow nice car is you have to worry about it getting dust , dirt, scratched , rock chips .. blah blah .. I'd rather throw my crappy looking car up into the middle of the parking lot and push some carts with it to get into the spot then to have to worry about my car every two seconds I'm not standing next to it . think of all the time you waste washing your car and detailing it just so it can be dirty two days later . that game gets old . think of how relaxing it would be to not care if somebody hits your car with their door . or a cart goes into it ... or if you want to sit on the hood ... you can't have fun with a clean show car as a daily.
but that's only if you want to have a shitty looking sleeper . whats wrong with having a stock looking car with an engine swap ? like a 4 door eg with hubcaps and a supercharged B18c5 under the hood

i think a lot of people are missing the point of this thread...cars that are done up and raced out are NOT sleepers. i would have to say though that this cobra powered focus is not what i would expect when i pulled up next to it! if i had my windows up and couldn't hear it i'd probably laugh at it...and then it would shit all over me!

I agree, the Nova defines the "sleeper" look.
the turbo van, the hubcapped wagon, etc...all fine examples.
