i was gonna post that honda if it weren't already done. with that setup, it's probably capable of 12s on the proper tires though. 8 years ago that honda would be the shit, it probably needs a K series engine to keep the sleeper pace if it wants to stay n/a.
if it were me:
-build motor
-turbo kit
-3" downpipe with an e-cutout, and either a stock or well muffled 2.5" system from there back
-a quiet, recirculated blowoff valve
-black FMIC or hidden (air-water maybe)
that's how i'd update it for 2009 sleeper status.

Low 13's on bobo street tires would beat alot of shit on the street..A sleeper in my opinion dont have to be a 10 second car just something that you would think is slow or stock but isnt

My friend Chuck had a 86 Integra that was the shittest thing ever.Exhaust falling off paint all faded stock wheels and height. And he is a older guy that you would think bought the car at a yard sale just for something to drive. But the car ran 12's in its prime and took ALOT of people by surprise...Funny shit imo and thats a sleeper.

So far, I'd say the Civette wins the thread. There was another Honda that made it to SCC that was better than the one posted. It was a SOHC EJ coupe with stock wheels. He routed his intercooler piping through the stock intake tube, the BOV was in the stock airbox, then the tube went down behind the bumper to a black IC core, then the turbo was on a short manifold, hidden under the stock exhaust manifold heat guard. Looks like a bone stock SOHC engine bay from a glance.

I remember that car^..I would also say a Omni or Shadow 2.2T with some work is good sleepers.

lol ok..A car on slicks and skinnies with a rollcage or camming its ass off IS NOT a sleeper I dont care how ugly or shitty it is..Which is what 90% of the cars posted have..If I pull up next to a Pinto and it looks like crap but has a rollcage and bigs and littles and its camming its ass off I,m not going to think wow that must be slow cause it ugly.I'm going to think its fast as hell.
And Btw I never said what the Civic ran cause I didnt read the thread.

I guess this qualifies as a sleeper. In the 70's this little BRE (Brock Racing Enterprises) Datsun 510 was tearing it up in the SCCA Trans-Am racing series, going toe to toe with some big V8 pony cars.

I define a sleeper as a car that does not look fast, and is faster than it looks. That automatically rules out sports cars (they are designed to look fast), unless you deliberately made it look slow. For example: the only kind of mustang I would think is slightly a sleeper would be a fast one that was converted to look like a slow as balls V6 mustang.
I think my car is a sleeper. 4 door Cadillac with an LS6. It looked like more of a sleeper when I had the stock silver painted wheels.

Some other good sleepers are the: Taurus SHO, Ford Festivas with turbo mazda 323 swaps, the turbo mazda 323, and the supercharged Buick regals (I think that is model).

I'd say a sleeper is any car that is unexpectedly fast. Doesn't have to be Lamborghini fast. Just faster than is should be.
And sports cars could be sleepers too. If you have, lets say...a C4 vette that can slaughter a Ferrari Enzo, but it looks like a stock Vette....that would be a sleeper.
Or if you have a Yugo that does mid 14's. That time might be slow to you, but it's faster than you'd expect a Yugo to be, so that's a sleeper too.
Enough talk. Here's another:
1929 Ford Model-A with 250 HP Cosworth Rally Engine!
250 HP 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder powertrain from a Ford Escort BDA Cosworth Group 4 Rally Car! The rally-powered Model-A can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 5,0 sec while it achieves a top speed of 124 mph.
