Because excess is always better in some peoples minds. It might have a re-inforced gearbox and a 2-step so it could launch if it actually had slicks. Those radials are not going to do shit with that kind of power. I would rather have broad power band then one that last all of 2000rpm and starts at 7800.

^Same here and as far as the B16 block being bored out and rendering the same displacement as some of the stronger B-Series engines, you seem like your right but who knows..

9's with slicks if he dosnt break the gear box. Even with slicks traction will be a problem unless his suspension is completely geared towards it. Traction bars would help alot with weight transfer. To me that car is just a dyno queen/ highway racer. I find it odd that he has the drag radials on the rear wheels as well, I dont really see the point in that.

Here is another Eg hatchback with 800 hp also that ran low tens with traction issues 800 wheel horse power 95 eg civic hatchback he was- Video ... The CFT Eg Hatchback also has over 700 hp to the wheels and runs mid 9's YouTube - cft hatch eg 2008setup dyno & track 9.66 so if mated to the correct setup all that hp can propel these lightweight cars through the quarter mile pretty impressively..

I wonder why he decided to go with the B16A block instead of say the B18B1 block or the B18C1 block which would render more displacement and in turn help the turbo spool faster..advantages of using the B16A block anyone?

b16 is 1.6, and yeah with all that shit that block is definately bored and sleeved prolly to 2.0

i think that picture and the heatshield make the turbo look bigger too. it says a t69 turbo...if that means 69mm turbonetics then its not actually really that huge.

I thought the all B-Series motors were all physically the same size? Hence why a B16 head fits on a B20 block... I can only think he used the B16 and bored it out and sleeved it with the thickest inserts possible.

The b16 has a shorter deck height, that is all.
