easy guys i wasnt trying to start an argument. I do admit I heard panda back in the days when i was in h.s. and lets just say im httin 30 soon so im an old fart. I honestly though it did come from the style of the ae86 cuz honestly that was the only car back then that i saw with that color combo. These days though its like everyone is trying to abuse it. to me though that was the only car that was cool with it. stateside here back in the days that meant any color car with black bumpers were the basic models..like the old school civics etc. anyways carry on.

To the OP: Why does this bother you? Who cares what anyone says, it's about as stupid as making a thread about it.

Just because it's an old term doesn't mean it's not a new fad. For instance, the entire drifting thing is an old sport (mid-late '80s), but reached international fad status just in the past few years. The AE86 in itself wasn't very big until more recently, either. Then there's stuff like veggie oil Benzs, Nurburgring lap times, and of course RHD cars. Old news, new fads.
